I started Axia college or otherwise known as Western International University in October of 2005. I was not even told that I would not be officially enrolled until after my first two blocks of classes. Well in the last week of my second block of classes, my financial counselor calls me and says she needs my 2004 taxes and that I wouldn't get to start my next set of classes until they were received. So, I had to call and request them from the IRS because they were e-filed. I did not get to start my third block of classes for 3 weeks because they kept not receiving my faxes and scanned emails.

Well now that I am in my third block, I am getting letters saying that I owe them almost $2000.00!! I was miffed and tried to call my financial counselor right away, and here I am 5 days later with NOOOOOOOOOOOOO response!!

Not even my academic counselor will call me or email me back. I started to wonder and was able to go to the National student loan web page and view my loans and it says that they were dispersed my tuition on Febuary 23, 2006. I am very frustrated and want to know where to go from here. I really want someone to email me or call me back from there. I never get a person when I call, it is always a message.

letters saying that you owe

Catrina,

I am one of the financial advisors for school and I wanted to let you know that as long as you don't fail, withdraw, or receive an incomplete for class, the student loans will cover the cost of class. You will be responsible for books, but you should be fine. The balance in the account summary is usually in accurate. When a student takes a break in between blocks, the disbursements are thrown off a little bit but pay no mind to the balance. Also, the letters are auto-generated , all you have to do is advise the financial advisor to 're-code' you status to 'current' since you will be getting monies in

Hope this helps

*Temporary Fix* What a huge SCAM!!!

Ok, so my academic counselor finally called me and he said it should be all worked out and to go online to the campus and sign in and it would show me that my balance was fixed. So, I did this and sure enough, he was right, they had fixed it to show I owed nothing. However, 3 days later, I went back to check, and now it shows I owe almost $2000.00. So, they claimed to have fixed the problem, and now, all of a sudden, I owe again.

Everytime I talk to someone from there, I get the complete run around. I have been told the "student load" has been quite heavy on them and that is why phone calls have not been returned. I was also told that there were emails sent to me, which I never recieved.
I have read all the other reports on this site, and right now, I am kicking myself in the kiester for not reading them before I started this joke of a college.

EVERY complaint I have read relates to my experience with them.

I have 5 children and I can't afford college without student loans. These people don't care, they will take your money and run.

Have I recieved a phone call back regarding the new account statement showing I owe again? OF COURSE NOT! How ridiculous!!!

I am done, and I am now going to try and find a college that I can transfer my credits to and get out of this mess!!!!

Hello Brian,
All is well now. My academic counselor contacted me finally and they corrected the problem. They think the 3 week gap in my classes is what caused it. Thanks for the offer to help resolve the problem.
