Complaint Review: Axsys Bank/ FingerHut

Started off paying a $300.00 account based on deffered payments. We were paying $7.00 /mon after the period ended. They forgot to tell us that when we bought something else for a less than $ 200 amount, that they would add a lot extra to the repayment disporportionatly (in other words, for a 66% increase in balance, there was a 600% increase in the monthly payment over the same period).

I was not able to pay that ($42.00/mon) since the deal was to keep it down to fit a fixed income with part time work (substitute teachers do not work over the summer nor do they work consistently over the school year). My wife was told that the payments would be kept down. I'm currently only paying the principle off at $14.00/mon since as long as I'm paying something, they can't send it to collections.

Of course, when I stop paying after that, they'll want me to make good on their late charges. Fat chance! If I were a debt repayment agency, they would waive them anyway. The original $500.00 is all their getting.
