I had a Goodrich Advantage Plus tire on my car with about 15K miles on it when decided to develop tread separation. Drove for about 50 miles unknowing it was not bad balancing and shaking got so bad that I lost control of the car. Upon inspection, the tire showed tread separation and multiple areas where it was about to blow out had I drove faster and longer.

Upon reporting this to their Customer No-Service & taking it to one of their distributors(Discount Tire Co.), I was told basically that they could care less. The tire has been conveniently discontinued.

My safety is not their concern but if I were to buy another of their tires they would be generous enough to give me a 20% discount. My life is only worth a discount of 20 per cent?? They refused to replace it. I have another matching tire on my car and am driving in fear of it also separating.

My only hope is that the other tire actually blows out causing me physical injury and I can sue them for all they are worth. Maybe that way they won't act so cavalier. I would never buy another Goodrich product after this incident. They can take their big discount and their tire and put it where the sun don't shine.

Had Goodrich Advantage Plus tire on my car with about 15K miles on it. Driving about 50mph on Interstate when tire decided to develop tread separation & develop bulges, about to blow out in multiple areas. Lost control of the car in heavy traffic & almost hit a wall. Reported incident to Goodrich Customer No-Service who acted very cavalier about it. Tells me to take it to their representative, Discount Tire Co., for their evaluation. They determined it was a defective tire, calls Goodrich, & Goodrich shuns it off citing it as a discontinued tire. Will be generous enough to give me a 20 percent discount toward another tire. Will NOT replace it. My life is only worth 20 percent(about $10)! Isn't that big of them? Sounds like Firestone all over again.
Is ther anyone else reading this with similar situation who would like to start a class action? I am livid. Thought Goodrich was a reputable company until now. They can take their big discount and put it where the sun don't shine!
