Complaint Review: B&H Photo Video

B&H Photo Video Did not pay me for used equipment; still has my cameras Internet

On December 28, 2009 I requested and received a quote from the Used Dept at BH Photo/Video for two cameras I wanted to sell.

Canon EOS REBEL 2000 W/28-80 II
Sony DSC-H5 DIGITAL CAMERA (BLACK)

The initial quote was for $125 pending review of the equipment. I mailed my cameras to BH Photo. On January 15, 2010 I received an email stating that they had completed an evaluation of my equipment and I should contact them to discuss.

I did contact the Used Department and was told that they would purchase the Canon camera for $50. The other camera they did not want and that was to be returned to me.

On January 26, 2010 I received an email that a check had been sent to me. As of April 28, 2010 I have still not received a check nor have they returned either of my cameras.

I have emailed the BH Used Department numerous times as to the whereabouts of my check and my equipment. First they claimed to have mailed the check to the wrong address. I gave them my address again. They said they mailed the check. I did not receive it. I emailed them again. They asked me for an "alternative address". I only have one address! They said they mailed me the check. Then they told me they'd tried to contact me but my phone number was "invalid". (They had the right number.) So far they have claimed to issue me about 4-5 checks. I'm wondering, where are all these $50 checks floating around, and where is my Sony camera that was supposed to be returned to me?

Up until recently, I just wanted my $50 check and my Sony camera returned. But I feel as if they are just trying to wear me down so I will give up! And I have pretty much given up hope that they will ever return my Sony camera to me.

Now I feel that BH Photo owes me the $125 originally quoted, and they owe it to me now.

I have been contacted by the person who filed this report. The details of the situation have become clear. Another new check will be printed and mailed today or tomorrow.
