Complaint Review: B.MOR Jewelry Aka Everprecious

I had an interview at B.Mor on Wednesday, September 1,2004. The interviewer (Renada) had explained to me that they were deciding between two girls for the position (production assistant). Renada explained to me that I should work for them that following Thursday and Friday just to see how well I do, and if they like me, they'll hire me.

I went in at 10am and worked until 6pm. I graded sapphires and grouped them into groups of six to be set into rings. By the time I left I asked Renada how much money I'd be making and she told me she'd ask Mr. Mor. She went into his office and came out 15 minutes later telling me he wasn't sure yet and that now there was a third girl they'd have to try out so they wanted me to come in a couple of days the following week.

At that point, I thought it all sounded pretty weird so I told her I'd just give her my address and she could send me my paycheck for that day. She told me I wasn't going to get paid, that I had "volunteered" and that this was just a "trial period". I was there from 10-6 and I took a one hour lunch break. I am furious and I'm wondering if they did this to the "other girls".
