Complaint Review: B & R Contracting

After almost a total loss from fire this Contractor Bob said he was a friend and could do the work much cheaper than anyone else since we had to do the work ourselves with six children we were trying to keep costs down.

The work: Fully gutting the home, rewiring, insulating, addition on, new roofing, new siding.  All inside work.

He convinced one of us to pay him in full since he was a friend and had to get christmas presents for his kids.  We had to finish the flooring ourselves, some of the piping.  The trim inside is still not done and the siding which was 5000 of the cost of total 16500 he charged us.  He took a van 1500 he never paid for either this was 2011, by 2012 Feb he was telling us he could not work because of an elbow operation.

We then did not hear from him all summer, by the end of the summer we were frusterated and stopped waving when we saw him.  By December we were visiting his home and questioning his charactor.  He was mean and violent and said he would not finish any work because we would not wave to him and that he gave us a deal and we could sue him if we wanted good luck.

After calls to Lawyers we found out that several people have already won cases against him and would not ge their money.  He knew how to rip people off.  

My only concern at this point is that he does not get the chance to do this to anyone else.  I am putting my story everywhere I can think of the keep this from happening.

We now have a home unfinished that pipes freeze every winter, those pipes are in the walls by the way.  We are breathing meth gas from septic because he did it wrong.  The addition is crooked seriously, the floors bow in also.  The sheetrock is buckling in some roomes too tight, very bad job on that.  So much so that I have put textured wall paper up to hide how bad it looks.  The windows get mold in the seems.

We have all of the siding but noone to put it on.  After putting a trailer out back for mother with cancer and losing her in Jan and just finishing the paperwork for insurance and working on 3 years of taxes due to all of this my patience has run thin with many.

Just don't use this guy for anything he does terrible work and will rob you as soon as he can and is very mean to children.  He called my then 9 year old an f'n (another term for a cigeratte). He had his son start cheap gut shotting my kids in school.

Yes I have a receipt for all the work to prove what I am saying and a house not done.
