Complaint Review: B&R Masonry and Contracting

This company did the same to me. They managed to take a two week job and turn it into a 6 month project and still not have the job completed. Bill Richardson with B&R contracting is a crook. He will low ball an estimate to you just so take his offer. Believe me pay the extra 20-25% from someone else. At least than you will know the work is being done and on time (did I mention he had 4 contract extensions) and still never completed half his work. Don't be a sucker like me and just use someone else. It is costing more to repair his damages and clean up his work than the 20-25 percent you save on the quote and than have to have someone finish. He knows what he does and he should be ashamed. He is what gives contractors a bad name and what contractors hate because it gives them a bad name. There is a 100 percent truth to everything the people above have said

I just came across the comments made by Bill Richardson after I posted my complaint, and wanted to clarify that they are completely not true.  Firstly, I don't consider paying for one thing and having someone do something else like clean the gutters and not do the thing I paid for something done for "FREE."  This would be a bait and switch.  I didn't ask for my gutters to be cleaned, nor would I have accepted paying hundreds of dollars for that job.  Bill Richardson never explained any additional work that would need to be done or said that he couldn't complete the work without doing something else, he merely promised me he was finishing up that night as he took my check from my hand.  If I had known of other issues we could have talked about them and worked it out, but that is not what happened.  It's very sad that this man has no decency to either do the job he was paid for or return the money.  He is a thief. 

Based on the fact that someone else has now experienced the same thing, I guess this is not an isolated incident.  I would suggest that people look for another contractor if they need one because he is not reliable and steals.  Notice that he doesn't put his address on his invoices, makes it kind of hard to file a complaint with the city or file a small claims case ... his family must be very proud.

This person is very descriptive on the things that were not completed, but she failed to mention the things that B & R did for FREE.  She was informed that the piece of drip-edge could not be installed because her shingles were damaged, and B & R did not want to risk the safety of our contractor.  She was informed that we could repair the shingles but she was not prepared to spend the money for the repairs. She did not want to get the work done on the shingles, but never comprehending that without the shingles being fixed, we could not repair the drip-edge.  There was no way to position the ladder for us to reach the metal, it must be done from the roof.  We also performed various other work on her property that was complete...these included siding of the first floor cornice, and replacing damaged wood where needed...she was very satisfied with the work that was performed but her whole demeanor changed when we refused to do anymore free work to her home.  We started to receive harassing phone calls from a gentleman who said that he was her brother and also a lawyer.  This same gentleman spoke to us in a very non-professional way, speaking with disrespect and profanity, he stated that we were going to be sued, and our business was going to be taken away.  The work we did for FREE included cleaning out the gutter, repairing the gutter, relaying damaged bricks and re-pointing of the bricks.
