Complaint Review: B & R Truck Salvage

I took my car to B & R Truck Salvage in Independence, MO because they said they could replace my transmission with another one for $728 (parts and installation) and could give me a six month warranty on the work. I picked up the car after the repairs were supposedly made, and it ran somewhat rough but driveable for about 60 days. But then it just stopped moving, even though it was still running. I took it to my normal mechanic and they told me it was the transmission. I'd just had it "repaired", so I contacted B & R at which time they informed me there was only a 30-day warranty on their work. But Todd was kind enough to investigate the problem and make any other needed repair to the transmission under warranty. When I took my car back to B & R, Todd called me to tell me it was a problem with the engine, and not the transmission, that had stopped my car from running. They offered to replace the engine for me also, for $600. I since went and got my car back and took it to yet another mechanic who confirmed my engine is fine and it is my transmission that is the problem.
