I browsed through backstreet-surveillance.com website for days picking out cameras and comparing their prices on what they call HD cameras. All over the place on the site it says their cameras are HD or high Definition, and even has the high definition logo in the pictures of the cameras and security systems. They even have a video showing high definition
video of a guy in an alley, and how good the video is.  After my last argument with them I noticed they removed the high definition video from their site and youtube. I bet they realized I was not the only person left cheated, so they wizened up and pulled off the video.

I compared their prices with several other websites on the internet, including amazon.com and homesecuritystore.com and found their prices to be the best for what I thought were HD cameras. I got the cameras and installed them to the DVR they sold me, and the picture is anything but HD, or anything like the HD video that is on their site.

It turns out that their cameras are just regular security cameras and not true HD cameras. They are not even 720p. I can barely even see a face 30 foot from the camera. That is definitely not the quality that youtube video on their website portrayed.

I didn't bother contacting them again since I installed the cameras and I realize they will not take the equipment back after its been used. But this was the biggest waste of money and time for me. If I wanted shitty cameras I would've gone to costco or someone else that had better prices. I was expecting HD cameras as advertised on their site, and I was not shipped
HD cameras.

Buyer beware. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere. I will not recommend these guys to anyone.

I purchased a camera system from them back in 2012. 1 Camera out of 6 wouldnt work properly, so I called them up, they gave me instructions on how to return it, I followed them, and shipped it back.  I believe their return policy was posted on this site. I recieved my new camera within a week and it has been working ever since. Shipping went smooth, recieving went smooth, cameras are indeed HD. they are solid, work perfectly and high quality, installed professionally.  they are a reputable company, and have my solid support.

I flushed Well over a Thousand Dollars by making the mistake of dealing with this outfit.  The AG and FTC also refuse to make this outfit honor their warranty.  I got screwed and to add insult to injury I had lies posted about me.  Not sure who posted the lies about me but have a real good idea.  I paid for a surveillance system which is worth about Five bucks.  My cameras and cables keep failing and they do not back up their warranty.

Return Instructions

Please help us provide the service you expect by clearly writing your RMA number on the outside of the package. Our return system relies on the RMA number to identify your purchase and process your refund. We have no way of processing a return without an RMA number. Because of this, packages received without the RMA number clearly written on the outside of the package will be refused and returned to the address it was sent.

 

Refund Rules

Merchandise may be returned within 30 days of date of purchase for a refund of the purchase price less a non-negotiable 15% processing fee. The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs. Returned items must be in NEW and unused condition to qualify for a refund. Items must be returned in the original packaging, including all manuals, documentation, hardware and other included components.

Damaged, used and incomplete returns will be charged a 50% disposal fee which will be deducted from the refund amount.

 

Hidden Camera Returns

Due to the nature of hidden and spy equipment we will not provide a cash or credit card refund for hidden camera equipment. However, at anytime during the first 90 days from the date of purchase, any hidden camera item can be returned for replacement or a 100% in-store credit. In-store credits can be used to purchase any other items we offer. The customer has the choice between a replacement item or a in-store credit; not a cash refund.

 

Shipping Costs

As stated on our website. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Wrong camera was sent to begin with. Took weeks before the right camera was sent. Whenever I called I could not get anyone to help me, this went in for several weeks. Do not think it's an easy step to put on you're computer. It is not easy. Most likely you will need help. GOOD LUCK. Don't ever try to return ANYTHING.After waiting for weeks I called to returnthe camera.These people are hateful, including a e mail that statedI have to pay for the return as stated in company policy.

It does not say that at all. I had a credit of appox. $100.00 comming which I never received. The camera I purchased was quickly removed from the line up never to be advertised again. I decided to keep the camera after receiving the e mails from BACKSTREET. I was going to loose 15% forrestocking anyway. When I did get help hardly a word was spoken. You will need to call back if & when a problem occurs. DO NOT do business with BACKSTREET. These are not good people to work with.
