Backyard Butchers Overcharged for meat and fish Kansas City Missouri
Saw this semi-truck parked in a shopping mall here in Independence, Mo. Sign said, "20 ribeye steaks for 29.95!" The guy who conned us said her was there for the month. He misrepresented the product....immensely!!! The two T-bones we got were about as thin as a sheet of paper, (Just like the 20 rib eyes for only $29.95), and full of gristle. Actually, they were about a a quarter inch thick. When you're looking at it head-on, you really can't tell the thickness until you cut it out of the plastic. The hamburger patties were terrible as well. Very high in fat. I would have done just as well if I'd purchased the cheap 70% lean ground burger wrapped in plastic so you can't see it, in any market, anywhere. I have yet to find one piece of meat that doesn't have gristle in it. The fish?....oh yeah. It has the taste of farm-fed fish. Bland and yucky.
My guess is they purchased it wholesale from some fish farm outlet overseas. All in all, my wife and I are very disgusted with what we got for almost $400.00! One thing's for sure...we got conned, big time, and we'll never, ever again purchase anything from these rip-off artists!!!! The guy who sold us this crap was named, Jerky Jeff. That's a perfect name for this con-artist. The twenty rib eye's you get are sliced about as thin as roast beef. They try to get away with that con by telling you they're, "Breakfast Steaks", then the guy goes into his pitch. So they pull you in deceptively with you thinking, "Wow! 20 Ribeye Steaks for only thirty bucks!", and then proceed to baffle you with their bulls__t. By the time you're done, you'll feel like your were just in a time-share presentation. Do yourself a favor, folks. Save your money! Don't be screwed by this outfit. They're, "Backyard Butchers", alright. But the only butchering they'll be doing is on your bank account or credit card.
