A few weeks ago I took my car into a specialty auto shop in Dallas, TX called Baertrax. My issue was a rear pinion seal leak in my differential. I was charged $308 for the seal to be replaced. When I got home I noticed that it was still leaking. I called the owner back up and told him the continuing issue and was told to bring it back in. When I brought it back the following day I was told that there was no leaking at all. I replied that it was impossible since everyday I come home I clean up a new puddle in my garage. The owner tells me that he will drive it around to see if it leaks because obviously its only leaking after being driven. I told him that I had a modified transmission that needed to be shifted quickly and accurately because it can be damaged if not done properly to which he says will be no problem. After a few days I don't hear back from him I call the shop before they close on Wednesday. He says I can pick it up Thursday morning but I have to do it before noon and the next day he will be closed. At that point I couldn't understand why he didnt call me and let me know that I could just come and pick the vehicle up before he closed and I miss out on getting my car for a few more days. I show up today (Thursday morning), the owner Josh tells me that my car is "stuck" in 2nd gear and it can't be driven! Josh is not happy that I am suspect of his driving skills in my modified transmission and tells me that he is offended that I think he trashed my car. I am out the 308 dollars and now I leave the shop with a broken transmission that now has
to be shipped back to Detroit  to be fixed. What can I do? Nothing really. I went on Yelp and posted a review and I also went on the Baertrax FB page and posted about my terrible business encounters with them. In addition I posted my unhappiness with the owner and posted a link to the website that creates these modified transmission in the hope that I teach this "Know it all" a little bit about this piece of machinery he mistreated.  Not more than 15 minutes pass after these posts when I get a call from him threatening to sue, claiming that his sister is a lawyer. I told him "OK, WHATEVER" and hung up on him. How about that guys? I'm the one who gets ROYALLY screwed and I am threatened with a lawsuit. This dude is a piece of "work."

Mr. Dennis,

FIRST:  I would like to say that, doing business with JOSH has been nothing short of FANTASTIC! His education, experience and love for automobiles far exceeds even the best competitor. I trust him completely. As far as his driving skills goes, I know for a fact, at one time NAScar offered him a paid scholorship just for his driving abilities alone. You might want to ask him about his ole '69 Camero, sometime.  Coupled and married with his name brand education and previous job experience from high-end companies that makes JOSH "THE Eliete!" not just in my book but in everyone elses as well.

SECOND: A returning puddle under your car  (your words here) doesnt sound like the restored pinion seal. You have more problems under that car than just the pinion seal and you know it. You took your car back to have it looked at (your words again) the seal did NOT leak! but instead you warned JOSH of the tricksey transmission (your words here) in hopes he WOULD drive the car. Everyone with any car savy whatsoever knows transmissions are like back injuries ... your can speculate all you want but you cant actually pin point the actual injury. So, infact, you wanted JOSH to drive the car in hopes you could bully him into fixing or giving you a new transmission. And by bullying him I mean ... writing rip-off reports aand on-line threats.

THIRD: If YOU really actually had an actual claim... you would not have resorted to a rip-off report. In my opinion YOU, Mr. Dennis are a weasler! You figured  the young man to be some fly-by-night garage greese monkey. Someone who you could easily intemidated. You are wrong, Mr. Dennis. JOSH is an upstanding individual. His work is above and beyond. He is first rate in everything he does. He does not leave anyone 'hanging'.

You should be ashamed, Mr. Dennis!

Your vague claim of the vehicle being a piece of "junk" is completely unfounded.  In fact here is a link to the company located in Detroit, Michigan that modified this transmission: http://www.libertysgears.com/ (See Face Plating).  I can assure you that this piece of machinery is not homemade nor is it junk.  You should do your research before posted completely false statements by the way.

I just read the report about the pinion seal leak in this guys differential and had to comment on the situation. I saw the guys car in the shop and have to say it was a heap of junk to begin with. To suggest that Baertrax had anything to do with his vehicles problems is laughable. The modified transmission he's talking about is a JB welded homemade piece of junk that was held together with bubble gum and bailing wire. The proper way to shift that transmission would be to shift it out of the car and into the dumpster. What is rather obvious is that you dragged a piece of junk car into his shop knowing it was falling about and you are now try to get free repairs by claiming "damage" to an already broken heap of junk. All the screaming and crying on Facebook, Yelp etc. isn't going to get you your way. Baertrax is the OLDEST off-road shop in the DFW area because they do quality work. You don't get that reputation by ripping people off. Josh has bent over backwards to help his customers and support the off-roading industry and to see you trying to scam him into a free repair job by attempting to smear his good name is rather pathetic.
