We purchased a Baja Blaster 65 Go Kart in November of 2006. Since that time we have had nothing but problem after problem with this product. The first problem occurred right away with slow pick up or hesitation and severe smoking. Pep Boys policy states to contact the manufacturer, not Pep Boys. We notified Baja Motorsports. After three attempts with no response, we finally were able to get the go kart serviced within the warranty period. At this time we were unable to drive the go kart due to large amounts of snow over several weeks.

When we were able to drive it again and after just a couple hours of use the belt disintegrated. We then returned to the authorized Baja Motorsport service center, which is over an hours drive from our home, and had the belt replaced, which we had to pay for since the warranty period was expired. After just a few more hours of use, the rear left wheel and axle came completely off while driving. We notified Baja Motorsports by phone and unfortunately they showed absolutely no concern with the safety of their product. The only response was that it was not under warranty. We then returned to the service center and had that repaired, at our own cost. In less than an hour of use, the front left ball joint completely severed from the wheel, causing extremely difficult steering and danger. It is now parked at our home unable to be driven.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has been notified, the incidents are under investigation and a report will be completed.
