I have been on the Wellness plan at Banfield for over 5 years with my 2 dogs. I had been happy  until they lost their 2 vets Dr. Cambell and Dr. Brewer.  After they quit there has been a constant parade of visiting doctors. Recently my dog was diagnosed with diabetes. I was told by Dr. Eric Ta that this condition was life threatening and that I needed to drive to the Greenville and Lovers Lane location immediately to get insulin. It took me one hour to get there in Friday traffic. I was told to be back at Dr. Ta's location by 3:30  to  give my dog his medicine. I walk into the other Banfield who had been called in advance that I was coming to get the medicine. I was told to sit down. I said I was not sitting down that I have been told by Dr. Ta that my dog's condition was life threatening. I was ignored for over 20 minutes. I lost it and finally said, "Give me the f_____g medicine" When a dog is dying I believe it should take top priority. Finally after 20 minutes and being treated like I was trying to steal the medicine I got it and left.

I arrived back at the McKinney location and Dr. Ta shows me how to give a shot but does not give him the medicine and tells me to give it to him after he eats that night. He put me through all this stress when I later find out he could have written a prescription at Walmart 5 minutes up the street. My dog now needs a test that takes all day called the curve. I take him to another vet because I no longer have faith in Banfield. Now it is time to reorder my dogs meds. I call 1800 Pet Meds and order. 2 days later I get an email from Petmeds that says my vet has not responded for 2 days to the order and cannot fill it. I call Banfield and they say they will respond to Pet Meds by fax. So now I cannot get my dogs medicine for 4 days from the day I order and my dog is out of medicine and so I call Dr. Ta and ask him to call Walmart. When I told him I had taken my dog to another vet and had the curve test done and the amount of medicine the other vet said he should have he would not call in the medicine to Walmart. I said "s**t" and he said he would not talk to me so I hung up. Dr. Ta  said that without  medicine it could hurt my dog and he still would not call it in.  If you are reading this and care about the health of your pets please consider my awful experiences  that I have had with Banfield before you take your pets to them.
