I filed a serious ethics complaint against a Bangor REALTOR, who was a member of the Maine Association of REALTORS (of the N.A.R.)

The Bangor Board of REALTORSy pretended to be interested, but instead just shined me on for 5 months. Finally I noted that fact in one of my blogs and sent it to several local politicians. The next day I got an email from the Bangor Board of REALTORS.

During that 5 months, I was living in an uninhabitable mobile home in a park belonging to the accused REALTOR's biggest client, and I was quite frightened, since people were telling me to be careful, saying, "This is Maine. Hunting accidents DO happen..."

In speaking on the phone with one of the lady REALTOR I foolishly fantasized that she was a friend, and would lie awake frightened at night, then I'd get up and email her.

I must have sent her at least a dozen (frantic sounding...) personal emails, as well as several professional ones.

But at the hearing, not only did the phony "Ethics" committee ignore all of my charges, but I found out that they had been forwarding ALL of my emails (professioal and personal) to the accused agent and his broker.

To learn the absurd and bizarre way that I found this out,(and learn how the accused REALTOR threatened to sue ME for the emails that his accomplices were sending him), read this:

Thomas...

You misread the report. This was not at the SALE, it was at the phony "Ethics" hearing. I had a charge against them, but they forwarded all of my personal and professional email to the accused REALTORS.

They certainly did NOT have any right to do that. They were just being scumbags. (I never got anything from the crooks...)

Chris...

Yes, I found a lawyer and spent a good deal of money on more inspections, etc. I now have tons of written proof, and we had a terrific case.

But unfortunately, then the money ran out, and now I can't afford to sue them.

Most of the people around here realize that, and that's another reason they feel so empowered.

But thanks for the moral suuport.

A Realtor ALWAYS works for the seller unless they sign an agreement to represent you.

And even then they may blab everything you do & say to the seller, and to all other agents. That is the reality of real estate.

The laws in most states REQUIRE (convenient, no?) the Realtor to TELL the seller EVERYTHING you do & say. This is called sub-agency. The only exception is if they have signed an agreement to represent only you. You have no friends when money is involved. Sorry.

I checked out your blog and related pages. That's some crime they perpetrated on you! What a bunch of dishonest sleazebags! When it goes to court you should have no problem winning.

Did you find a lawyer? As long as he/she is licensed to practice in Maine you can go outside of your local area, can't you? These provincial punks can't have every attorney in the state tied up.

These so-called "ethical" (NOT!) realtors will end up wishing they'd just replaced your home with a habitable one (the ETHICAL thing to do) rather than put someone through all of this! All they're doing is embarrassing themselves publicly. They should be ashamed of themselves!!!
