B of A repossessed my auto in May2000. Now approximately a year and a half later they are coming out of the blue with a lawsuit for the difference.

Also they sold my car at a PRIVATE sale for approximately $2,000 less than the wholesale value.

They need to be stopped from trampling consumers rights! The FEDERAL TRADE COMISSION appears to agree with me. I was told if there were a sufficient number of like complaints filed the FTC would enter suit.

I need suggetions and help as to how to get other people who have treated in a like manner by their bank to contact the FEDERAL TRADE COMISSION to complain.
Sincerely,
James Berry,Jr.

Steve I had been insulted like this all my life

Steve I have been insulted like this all my life. From the bullies in school & on this site. But Its not worth commiting suicide from some nut on the internet, like so many others have fallen victim to.

I have sympathy for the people who have commiting suicide from people like you steve on the internet who has to cyber bully people to make themselves feel good & who don't give a d**n about other peoples feelings.

They chose to commit suicide I chose not to I chose life no matter what I am going threw. It seems like you like to hurt people steve & when people point that out to you, you get angry like most bullies do.

I could have ended my life long before know steve I chose not to that would be just given in to the bullies. Many people have tried to destroy my life my father for not supporting me or paying child support.

All my father cared about was having a beer In his hand. People on this site have tried to destroy me but It hasn't. So steve your words do not hurt me & this gets you angry.

The bullies In school tried to destroy me but It didn't work. I rather be alone then be abused. So steve your attempt to ruin my day didn't succeed It gets you nowhere when you try to ruin my day.

You say my grammer & spelling Is bad. Because I miss spelled 1 word. I am willing to take this abuse to expose unfair & bad business practice. If you feel the need to insult me about my speeling go for It.

Because It doesn't hurt me as much as you like It to.

None of this whining and gnashing of teeth alters the fact that 'Common Sense' is correct. Pay your bills and none of this happens.

No ripoff here.

I expect your attitude would be different if someone had bought something from you and didn't pay for it.

Accept some responsibility folks.

No ripoff here, and...Charles, you can never be anonymous!

There is no "ripoff" here. The bank is well within its rights to repo the vehicle, sell at auction, and come after the deficiency.

Charles,

I can spot your post a mile away.

You can never be "anonymous" because your spelling and grammar are so bad.

I am a consumer but I would like to offer a comment. Common sense must work for bank of america. Why else would they be defending them.

Banks can take your car just to be mean & throw there power around. There will always be some nut defending these scumbad bad businesses. I guess they didn't read you full complaint that It was repo in 2000.

Know they are just filing a lawsuit for the money they didn't get in the auction to the oringinal poster why did they wait almost 9 years to file the lawsuit. It is way past the statues to collect any money.

Things are not far for consumers today & look how much effort these bad companies spend on this website attacking the OP.

Consumers Rights???

Here is a suggestion.... PAY YOUR BILLS!!!! How could you seriously write this complaint. You as the consumer have a right to pay your bill, and if you dont the lender has every right to repo your vehicle, sell it at auction, and take you to civil court for the difference. You agreed to that when you bought your car, and signed your contract with the lender.

#13Consumer Suggestion

Just a suggestion. You may want to place a very small ad in a newspaper, stating if you have had your vehicle repossessed by Bank of America within (example "the past five years), please call a telephone number you can provide them with. Just note in the add, they should have a copy of the final statement showing the amount owed and the selling price at the auction or private sale. They can also check the trade-in value at www.kellybluebook.com to get the value. Wholesalers use KellyBlueBook or the BlackBook 90% of the time to determine what they can afford to purchase a vehicle for in order to turn around and sell it at retail. There is approx. a $5,000 difference. This is the new purchasers play money on how much or little profit they want. Everyone is well aware when they drive their new vehicle off a dealer lot, they automatically lose between $1,000 and $3,000 in value.

TO MAKE THIS SHORT, run an ad using the telephone number you called to file the complain. You will be amazed at how many calls they will start getting. I currently work for a repossession company and all of our vehicles are sent to the auction "Bank of America vehicles". We don't waste our time trying to sell them because of the situation you are in. Most people shopping for cars at a repo lot are looking for a bargain price anyway. I've had a unit voluntarily turned in to Ford. You think Bank of America is bad, finance with Ford and find out how fast they will sue you for a balance. "If all else fails and you have additional debts, file chapter 7 and tell them to kiss your a**." Hope everything works out for you.
