HERE THEY GO AGAIN

As if this financial monster ,the size of a small  city, doesn't have enough money already, They will start 8/15 charging to cash a check drawn on the bank $8 Fee yes eight dollars to get money owed to you!

I have contractors, friends and family that I write checks to.  These people will not tolerate this nor afford this.

This will cause my fees from contractors to increae.

What a RipOff. This is the last straw.

I am changing banks for sure.

This NON-CUSTOMER check cashing fee has been standard for several years by just about every bank.  In fact that is the CURRENT fee charged by Bank of America.  The only difference is that they seem to be changing the fee to where it will apply only to checks over $50 where currently it applies to checks of any amount.

But I wonder if you really understand what this means.  This means that if they take that check and go into a branch to cash it they will be charged a fee.  IF they deposit it through their bank or other methods then this fee does not apply.  Also, if you have a business account you may be able to set it up where you take responsibility for this fee.

Of course you are free to change banks, but before you do be sure to ask the new account manager at the new bank what they charge for a non-customer to cash a check.  You may be in for a bit of a shock.
