BANK OF AMERICA CASHPAY PAYROLL VISA CARD, BANK OF AMERICA STILL CLEARING SUCH PURCHASES MORE THAN WHATS ON YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE LONG BEACH California
This is such a rip off that a purchase I made for this Cancun Tacos in Balboa Island, Newport beach Ca. have just been cleared on the 27th of Jan and yet it was actually purchased on the 21st. This made my balance on BOFA Payroll card as negarive since I expected to have been cleared on that same day I made a purchase which was already funded then. Since i thought i still have a balance on the 25th, then i made extra purchases from other places.
So, when this Cancun purchase showed up it got cleared but BOFA charged me today the 27th of Jan a $20 fee since I dont have fund to cover for it today. This is terrible! I called BOFA and they said that i should keep track of my transactions but we normally just look up our balance daily. BOFA first of all should not accept transactions if we dont have sufficient fund to cover. This is same case with our checking accounts.
If only there's a law on this the way our banks deals with our balances then there will be no more fees. This is how we get rip off as consumers! BOFA even stated to me that i should run after the merchant Cancun Tacos since they held my purchase for days. But, they have the rights to do that. Its BOFA who should have managed my account and not put me in this state of getting rip off by them! VISA on the other side should take care of it too!
We trust them and they're supposed to take care of our accounts!

This guy reminds me of an old girl friend. She figured as long as she had checks, she had money. Like the OP, she never paid attention to that old thing called a balance. The OP figured as long as "it showed" there was money on the card, he had money. HE never paid attention to that old thing called a balance either. It's the mean, old, bad bank's fault. THEY paid attention to HIS balance. Whatever happened to personal responsibility? Where the customer is responsible for their spending or their balance. I had a hard time teaching the same thing to my 5 year old granddaughter. I guess no one taught the OP the same thing. "We trust them and they're suppose to take care of our accounts"! Someone has to protect these people from themselves. Hell, it sounds like our government and their irresponsible spending.

"...Its BOFA who should have managed my account and not put me in this state of getting rip off by them.."
This is a joke right? You think BofA should be managing your account? Do you also have someone dress and feed you?
If by some chance you honestly believe this here is a shocker for you. The only Ripoff is the one done by you. In that you are not taking personal responsibility. The only one who should be managing your account is YOU. All you have to do write down the transactions when you spend the money, never spend more than is available and an amazing thing will happen. You won't get overdraft fees because you won't overdraft your account.

While the bank administrates the transactions that we authorize, it is still up to us (the account holders) to manage our finances. When we authorize a transaction, we guarantee that it will be paid for.
When you write that you usually just look up your account balance, I assume that you meant the online banking feature. I strongly advise you not to do this as they are not accurate. (They can't be)
I urge you to create a ledger and use it. That way you won't have to worry about whether or not the bank will authorize a transaction that will overdraft your account and you won't have to wait until someone makes a law.

You say in your report: "Its BOFA who should have managed my account and not put me in this state of getting rip off by them!"
YOU overdrew the account. You admit to as much in the first part of your report. Had you kept an accurate up to date register you would never have attempted to spend the same money twice. Which you also admit to!! >>>> "i made extra purchases from other places. "
You state that you made a call to check your balance. HOW accurate could that have been when BoA would have NO way to know what check you'd written or what debits you'd done if they hadnt yet cleared the bank? You already stated this one place didnt submit the charges for a couple days.....suppose others did the same........how would the bank know there is more outstanding??
My gawd lady........accept responsibility for your actions. Keep an accurate register......and in this instance.....dont spend what you dont have. I suspect you need to grow up and learn accountability and personal responsibility
