I have been banking in Cedar Hill a suburb of Dallas tx for the past 14 yrs at Bank Of America.......now know to me as rip off boa!

I have never had a monthly fee of any kind on this account.
I have not used the account much since I only used this acct for my mom's bills. Now I just use it for my electric bill and small stuff.

my sister in law got a letter saying that i had overdrawn. In the first place I dont know why they would have contacted her, living in Washington state.
Then I call them and they tell me that I should have gotten mail telling me that they were going to charge me 20. a month for maintenance on this acct..........well, I never got any mail and this caused the account to bounce.....they charged me feb, march, april and may.......and on top of that 35. for each NSF......4 of them....I would have had enough money for my transactions, but they took my money!!!!!!!!
I called them and stayed on the phone for a good time with this girl, who tried to tell me that I should have known and should have checked my account. I explained that I hardly use this account and I knew what amount I had, so I should have had no problem!!!!!!!! She went ahead and reversed the monthly fees, and 2 NSF/s......but said she could not reverse the others.
I asked for the supervisor...........he had a real arrogant attitude and told me that it had to be an error or fraud, before they could reverse it.........I told them that this was highway robbery.....he said that he had talked to me enough and that he was not going to be changing anything, so goodbye and literally hung up on me.........I had not said anything..........I was left with my mouth opened in amazement and very upset if you can imagine!
Fourteen yrs with BOA and I get treated like this??????????? He said he did not care, that it would not be fair to help me and not help those who are new to the company.....what does that mean????????
I will be closing this acct real soon......

GEM, PUBLICLY HELD COMPANIES DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR ME! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT.....

MAKING MONEY!!! And they'll make that money any way that they can!!!

There are only a handful of Publicly Held Companies that truly care about their customers, in my opinion. They'll all say that they care, but it doesn't matter what they say, it matters what they do, correct?

These Publicly Held Companies are no different than the government of the United States of America in many ways, right? The government continues to inject TAXPAYER'S money into these same failing corporations like- Bank of America, AIG, GM, Chrysler, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, & others, correct?

And look what's happening!

Americans simply need to cash-in all their STOCKS, their RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS, their CD's, their 401K's, their IRA's, & any other investments that they have and take control for themselves!

If ALL Americans did that, & put their money into Locally Owned & operated Credit Unions, & Locally owned & operated Banks, then things would be MUCH better, & SAFER for Americans, wouldn't you agree?

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

This is the Corporate Branch. It works for me everytime. Don't forget to mention their declining customer service and poor disclosure procedures.

"...I should have known and should have checked my account"
-Yes, she is right!! With all of today's technology, all you have to do is go on the computer, point and click, and Viola!! there's your balance!! Not good with the computer, use bank-by-phone!!

Also, why did you not contact the bank when you failed to receive
your bank statements in the mail for 4-5 straight months??
(probably more, as most banks start charging dormancy fees after 12 months...)
I would at least go to the branch and check up on it...

"....he had a real arrogant attitude and told me that it had to be an error or fraud"
-It wasn't bank error nor fraud; you agreed to these fees when you opened your account.
All changes to your agreement were sent with your statement... which you never got...
Not the Bank's fault.

"......but said she could not reverse the others"
-She has no obligation to do so; read above explanation as to why...

"He said he did not care, that it would not be fair to help me and not help those who are new to the company.....what does that mean????????"
-It means that he gets 50 phone calls a day about overdraft fees. You, like the others, cannot manage your account, and he thinks (knows) that you are making up lame excuses.

You are not special. Pay the fees, and get over yourself!!
