wrote a check and submitted it to "Sears Gift Services". Check was cashed, never received anything from that company.

Called Sears Gift Services, they claimed that they never receive any checks and that they did not cash it.

Went to our BoA branch (the people in there are very nice and helpful, I don't want to say anything against them) they provided us with a copy of the check. The only thing we could read was Fleet.... the acccount number was erased.

Asked BoA for a so called "source of receipt", a document which shows to which account the check was credited. BoA submitted the copy again. Again, asked for a "source of receipt" BoA acted as if they had never heard that expression. Later they said "the copy is the only source of receipt"

I am sure that if the IRS had asked them who cashed the check they would definitely be able to tell them. It is rediculous that in the age of computers where each transaction is stored electronically, it is not possible to identify the account to which the check was credited.

We are sure that BoA lied to us- they are able to identify the account and the recipient but they don't care a s**t.
