Bank Of America LIES TOLD AND ANNUITY CHECKS HELD WHILE SHOWING AVAILABLE ONLINE South Padre Island Nationwide
No excuses are possible for the inaccurate information given by this company. In the past month I have deposited over 13000.00 in Annuity checks in my account and each one of them has been placed on hold. The funds have shown available in my BOA online banking account, not as pending or subject to hold. Believing my online balance, I foolishly paid my bills some ahead of time. I have been told it is at the discretion of the bank as to when they give you credit for your deposit. They have even held a certified check and when the BOA employee admitted that was a mistake, he promised me there would be no overdraft charges for any items because it was their fault. I was charged 80.00 in overdraft fees. I didn't complain because he had been so nice. Now I find they instituted a new policy on April 9th after this, that each overdraft occurence will increase your fees if it occurs again.
I was told that one annuity check deposit would be held until 2/04 in writing on my deposit slip, just to discover that it was not released until 2/7 for credit. If I call re my account, I am given different answers than if I email online. Example...on the phone I was told my latest check would clear 2/10 in time for my mortgage company withdrawal. Quoting the employee's name who told me this in an email I tried to verify what I was told. With no apology I was told that information was incorrect and my funds would not be available until 2/11 and that I would be liable for any overdraft fees of 30.00 each if they occured. I was told on the phone BY CUSTOMER SERVICE to deposit inside the bank with a manager to avoid some of these problems and not go directly to the teller.
I tried that and the manager said don't bother coming in. Its an annuity check you can use the ATM or any old teller can help you. I was told they could not mail my ATM card to a rural pobox , over the phone they arranged to do it. I was told I could not change my address online, but its been changed. I also believe they sent my ATM CARD TO an address I have not lived at in 3 years although all other mail from them is going to my current address. I have moved money back and forth from my savings account and moneymarket so any interest I might have earned has been eaten up by maintnance fees and service charges. It is literally the worst run company with the poorest customer service, I have ever experienced. I am not someone who is writing checks before the money shows up online in my account. I just can't trust the balance I see online. They gave me no indication that when the money appears in your account it is not there. I just can't trust them to keep their word on when the money is available. This is a nightmare and if anyone would like to sue, I would certainly like to help!!!
