I have had nothing but problems with Bank of America lately. Recently i had charges on my account that I had no idea where they were from, I disputed them with Bank of America, they removed them from my account a week later, they were debited from my account again, making me go into the negative....which of course put about 3 other charges into negative also, and at $35 a charge, that turned into a nightmare..when I called customer service, they are of absolutely no help. I don't understand why a bank would take money out of a account when I'm sure they can see that the money is not there.

Heres what I think she meant satchmo,
She had mysterious activity on her account and notified the bank about it,
The bank responded by removing these charges AND THEN a week later
reposted them to her account when she had insufficient funds to cover them.
The details seem to be missing here.
What were these transactions?
Were they legit?
Why were they reposted to your account, And what is the status of this presently?
Anyhow IF these were fraudulent charges then all the reading of terms and conditions/keeping
a register OR responsible account monitoring would not have made much of a difference when these charges
were reposted to the account.
However IF they were legit charges and were returned to the account when this was found out
to be the case, then I don't see what the complaint is.

it is your responsibility to monitor your account.

BOA has millions of customers, they are not 'observing' your account singlehandedly. You make it sound like BOA has singled you out and is trying to devastate you by assessing a fee onto your account. You have to read the fine print before signing an agreement to bank with the Bank of America, and fully understand the repercussions when you bounce a transaction.

The result of the fees are automated according to transactional rules that ALL banks programmed when they incorporated online banking. It is not like they have workers in backrooms trying to get your accounts into the red.

they program online banking as such: If account goes into negative, then assess $35 fee. If this, then that etc. etc.

It is all automated, it is not like some individual is trying to make your day worse by assessing you a fee. It is your job to monitor and ensure that your account is in good standing.
