This is to Michelle, I trained for 6 mo. at this bank and I can tell you that payments don't always post when you think they will , so I always told customers to send out their next payment a little earlier. Thats as far as I knew. Now I will tell all , that no cc company employee wants to have to call their manager to handle what they are trained to do.The company would rather remove those fees and let them get on / it. Say I REFUSE AND DON'T take No for an answer or you insist on a real manager. If you take long enough time from other customers they have only 3 minutes to handle each call ,they will give it to you. I have seen it time and time again when I tried to save the company $ that if a manager did come over they will give you all but make sure they don;t send you to balance transfer or any other ways to put their hands in your pocket. If you take enough time they will remove the disputed fees right there. We handled customer service accounts and for extra benifits we sold insurance ,instant checks to get people in trouble, turn accts. over at lower rates or to send people who couldn't make their payment for any reason to a consumer credit persons waiting on the other end of the phone to stick it to you worse by giving you longer to pay your acct.at a higher rate, which ends up taking your life to pay off. Credit cards are for people who don't mind paying thru the nose to say charge it. I get a prepay cc thru visa or mastercard load my money on it and don't have the hassles. NOW if you feel you don't deserve the late payment fee, over the credit line fee, or those high interest rates thats being added to your loan ,along with things like insurance you don't order that shows up on your bill. They were betting that would happen, on that new low interest cc you were so pleased with , is lost with just one late payment. They make the majority of their monies from people who live paycheck to paycheck. I was sickened when Charley the owner of MBNA and bank one , etc. went to President Bush to make it imposible for anyone to bankrupsey off these balances

Credit cards are great for folks with a STABLE income, cash reserves, maintain accurate and up to date financial records, and pay their bills on time. I've had a credit card (that's right-ONE credit card) since 1973 and I don't pay any fees for the card. I pay it off in full every month so I don't pay any interest either. I also have a buyer protection plan with the card (VISA Platinum.)

Pre-loaded "credit cards" (they're not really credit cards-they are a form of bank card) are good for folks who have little to no cash reserves, unstable income, or poor record keeping skills. These cards usually come with heavy FEES and absolutely NO buyer protection.
