I fully agree with all who have been victimized by BofA's excessive fee for NSF transactions. I too, only recently became aware of the process they used to generate fees.

It is an interesting fact, reported in the media, that these "fees" have accelerated in recent years as a growth industry and a beneficial addition to the bottom line of many financial institutions.

Therefore, it is puzzling to see why the defenders of such practices are so adamant when they have no vested interest in BofA.

Much has been written about these practices, but so far, nothing has been done about it.

It seems that year after year these banks continue to develop new ways of padding their bottom line and it certainly isn't because all of us are poor bookkeepers.

Steve,

The answer to your same old misleading question is - you have never PAID an nsf fee because when you INCURRED them because of YOUR OWN IRRESPONSIBILITY, as you yourself previously admitted for the record, Bank of America refunded them for you. It also worked to your advantage that "Decisioned" didn't exist back then, otherwise you might not have been so lucky.

James is exactly right. Times have changed and so has Bank of America's policies. Many of these ROR authors are also long time customers themselves who have never had any recurring issues until recently. Why is this a coincidence?

James, people who pay NSF fees are victims of themselves!

James,

If you do not overdraft your account, NSF fees are irrelevant.

If you keep an accurate checkbook register and do not spend money you do not have AVAILABLE in your account you will never pay NSF fees.

People need to take responsibility for their own problems and stop blaming others for their own financial irresponsibility.

Keep an ACCURATE register.
Balance your checkbook.
Be responsible.

I have had multiple accounts in multiple states with BofA over the past 16 years and other banks over the past 30 years.

I have NEVER paid an NSF fee. Why is this?
