Bought a wireless headphone set for my 80+ year old mother so that she could listen to her television without disturbing everyone else. This was purchased from Brookstone. I was offered an extended warranty for an additional year, which I purchased. In the second year, headphones starting developing a hairline crack near the right earpiece which eventually lead to a piece of the plastic breaking off resulting In no sound coming from that side. Called in October and was told that I did not register the warranty, which I was not told at the store that I needed to, and that they would do so with the info that I provided. This gentleman sounded like i would register and with that I would be able to get a new set of earphones with no problem. The paper came and grant it I didn't call right back. I call today and get someone and begin to tell him what the problem was, after giving him the warranty info, and he immediately starts with this sounds like the product was abused in some way and he doubted it would be covered. I told him that in looking at the other side (left), I could see that it also had a hairline crack developing and would probably do the same thing. He still kept saying something about abusing the product at which time I told him I didn't think that she had abused them at all. It was just the motion of putting the headphones on and taking the off that probably caused them to crack since it was doing the same thing on the other side! He still said that he didn't know for a fact but they were probably abused in some way and probably would not be covered. Give me a break!!! Cheap a** manufacturing probably was the abuse!! I just told him to forget it and that I would never by an extended warranty again that had anything to do with BANKERS WARRANTY GROUP OF FLORIDA. Don't waste your money or your time buying anything that has to do with extended warranty from this company. When I return to Brookstone, I intend to tell them the same thing. I have dealt with other warranty groups and have never had someone tell me over the phone like that, that something sounded like they were mishandled and that was the cause of them becoming broken. Plain and simple, they were defective and not abused.
