This is not a smear campaign or words of anger from a disgruntled, angry, ex-employee. What this information is intended to present is the truth that needs to be told!!
Actually, I am an ex-employee, and I continue to regret my being a part of what I thought was the most wonderful job I ever had in my life. I loved this shelter, and its many feline residents. The problem actually lies within the chain of command, and the unfortunate choice of individuals, two women, named as ROBIN JOHNSON AND BARBARA AUCKLAND, who are in charge of daily operations.
This shelter has so much potential that will never be reached due to the constant ignoring by the BOARD OF DIRECTORS themselves, to countless complaints and letters in regard to issues ranging from poor treatment of the animals, poor treatment of volunteers, rude and unecessary discrimination to the actual clients of the shelter, and undeniably, the harsh, cruel, disrespectful and very continuous treatment of the kennel working staff of FRIENDS OF CATS.
Something must be done, and I have no problem in saying that I have wanted to submit this information since the first year I started working at FOC. Now, the truth shall be reached all over the county, and nation wide, and I will do whatever it takes to lead the campaign, and recruit all ex-employees, volunteers, customers who have had the NIGHTMARE experience I have, and believe me, there are at least 21 people already on my list of contacts to assist me in my quest. MORE shall be revealed very soon. This is only the beginning. Stay tuned for a show you won't want to miss.

Friends of Cats is a good organization. But, as stated, the authoritative figures are unfair, and rude. The business is not properly managed. As an employee for 2 years, i saw many people treated as less than any human being should be.
Dedicated volunteers with great intentions were turned away and told not to return for no reason other than the fact that Barbara did not like them or was annoyed by them.
Employees are often talked about badly behind their backs right IN THE OFFICE. Personal issues are often discussed with people who have no business knowing. I could easily go on and on about the things I witnessed and things that personally happened to me.
