Complaint Review: Barbara R. Snyder President CWRU

Babara Snyder is one of the highest paid University Presidents, and is turning CWRU around with innovative teaching opportunities while destroying the caliber & quality of education as to content. 

Anything goes at CWRU is the current mantra, and if you object - well Peter Poulos, the Chief Legal Counsel, can order an evaluation of you to see what he can find about your personal & sexual life - and it's the sex he's interested in of course - that's the answer to why you object to bizarre antics in classes?  But it's ostensibly 'just to see what it shows' in his 'boys being boys' parlance - he's a kid with his fingers in the cookie jar, his mind on the Facebook pages of the women students.  And his office knows about the Aronofsky movies, the discussions on books that the CWRU bookstore never orders, the math classes where the Uganda graduate students are passed through without ever taking Calculus for Dummies - all the irregularities passing for class credit hours.  It's all a play.

All that Barbara Snyder is interested in - is in destroying other woman professionals & their ideals & dreams - with Hitleresque techniques of getting back if you disagree.  She, her office, puts you into Peter Poulos' office - where things get even more absurd & ridiculously out-of-control.  For one woman graduate student it has been 5 years to get ONE transcript - and she has to pay for classes that she could not attend - that Peter Poulos in his all-knowing infallibility took her out of before requiring a meeting with her and the Professor that was causing the trouble - to see what the disagreeement was about.  And she was getting A's in those classes - the problem was the ONE woman Professor and her agenda. 

Then there's the guillotine of the Case shrinks to dismember any thinking woman from her ethics - and Peter P will use the shrinks and drugs to make you fit at Case.  Ethics is a joke - concepts of right and wrong are in the cash box - the Promissory Notes to the University for classes never attended.  What if the bus driver is drunk (Stewart Younger), becomes a question of what if the University President just doesn't care?   

At Case, there's no forum for discussion about innovative teaching - it's how Barbara Snyder pictures innovation - and no time for her to spend with women professionals, or graduate students, to mentor them, or get their ideas = MD, JD or PhD students are not worth her time or conversation as they can't do her hair, don't offer cash incentives, and she's definitely not interested in their ideas.

Case Western Reserve University is a play - where you take part in a game and if you won't play, your classes are canceled and, you are handed a Promissory Note for the expenses of classes that you were not able to complete or attend - because your ID was canceled.  Who came up with this 'play' idea?

Describing CWRU as a 'play' - as in performance, drama, or sport - is probably a unique description for the process of getting an educational degree - 'chic.'  But the game is almost as in THE HUNGER GAMES at CWRU = to the death Barbara & company will try to ruin your geeky PhD career if you don't like the movies, the role-play games, the Tuskegee films, the l*****n-gay and the breast implant credits - and then there's the marijuana endorsement. 

The Snyder ideal student is: l*****n, gay, bisexual or transgender (check), breast implants (check), drug addict requiring needle-exchange (check), likes marijuana (check), no ability to think or reason (check).  Regarding the marijuana: Barbara Snyder has definitely never lived in Hawaii - where having marijuana on the hillside, on the beach, and all over serves to unaddict and disillusion (pretty fast) about any benefits of the 'weed' - been there done that - try orchids, pineapple or coffee trees.  Even the ever-present cockroaches and geckoes know to avoid that stuff - just not the human cockroaches. 

If you try to get through the Case gauntlet, or arena games of the CWRU play, there will be disagreements if you are high-strung, principled, or morally grounded.  And when you disagree, Barbara calls in her 'cleaner' Peter Poulos - the groveler.

Peter Poulos thinks it's a sport - another 'play' game (for 3-year-olds) - to order psychological & psychiatric testing on MD/PhD graduate students looking for 'what he can find' - and just because he 'can' - to misuse for Barbara Snyder's benefit.  These are erstwhile very stable women, and nothing is sacred or private in these C-evals; he can fabricate like the best of the CWRU law school grads.  He's a 'boy' playing those 'boy games' going after the girls, checking their personals - what a wuss.  Peter Poulos psychiatric evaluation privileges need to be cut off - or at least reduced. 

These MENSA women that he targets will be good academic achievers, have their names in publications in Nature Medicine, and he still wants to evaluate to see what he can find - like an overcompulsive sex addict who wants to pervert any woman that comes across his desk.  And he's looking for the sex to justify however Sana Loue & others get it - by advertising in class as to their issues.  But none of that should be in class, or epidemiology classes to be precise - even in a play game. 

Issues of gender don't belong in the play unless you are in a Gender Class or Program - and we all should grow up about that - we are what we are and you can't change the chromosomes despite changing the appearance or the clothes.  And all of that should be done before college - you should not be coming to college to watch your roommate do it with the same-sex or even the opposite sex = a misuse of a dorm room.  Sex is not the purpose of the play called 'college.'     

Back to Case - then when you are taken out of classes as the PhD candidate that will never be - you are supposed to sign and return a Promissory Note to the University - Tom Weber - for any transcripts of the 'C' in Ethics with Sana Loue - paying for classes that Barbara Snyder would not let you finish. 

Translation: you had to disagree with Sana Loue in class & you were outted for the Catholic girl that you are and can't change.  You couldn't be the l*****n, Hispanic, breast implanted, brain-dead marijuana junkie that Sana Loue wanted - you didn't need breast implants or the discussion.  And it's Barbara Synder behind this, as her Office puts you into Peter Poulos to 'clean up the mess.'  But the mess is hers - and the play is called 'Case.'

Barbara Snyder needs to stop harassing MD/PhD students to accept bizarre teaching 'opportunities' (film noire ethics) in required courses, or get out - with IDs, emails, and course credits canceled per her office.  There has to be a way to negotiate changes in some of the graduate programs to benefit all, but getting rid of the competition is not the answer. 

There's the famous Harvard Law School book - Getting to YES - an easy read if you read books.  But Barbara Snyder is never photographed with a book.  However, neither Barbara Snyder, nor Peter Poulos, know anything about negotiation - it's her way or no way - Peter's principles and evaluations or no classes.

Ordering graduate students to unnecessary psychiatric evaluations - which the University has money to pay for somehow. . .just like Barbara's unmerited salary - for objecting to bizarre amusements in graduate classes (at over $1000/credit hour) - is Hitleresque, 1984, and what the German students that comprised the group known as THE WHITE ROSE objected to - dictatorship & no autonomy of deciding about classes that don't match the class descriptions - and it's 2012, not 1942.   

Even though Case Western Reserve University is a Looking for Godot type of absurdist play - reality of the darkest type - it still is supposed to grant degrees on merit, and the merit has to have a standard of class participation, mastery of class materials and the course description concepts.  But Barbara Snyder couldn't even speak to the woman MD/PhD that she was mandating had to endure Aronofsky movies as Epidemiology 'class' in the Medical Graduate School - not even to apologize.  The play was Aronofsy or no degree, mein kampf or no deal. 
Barbara Snyder needs to make CWRU a learning environment - not a play - and a dialogue with graduate students about educational innovations before showing bizarre movies of the film noire (not even color movies).  Barbara Snyder needs to attend one of William Ury's Negotiation Skills Workshops with her salary - to learn how to negotiate with graduate students about improving classes, professors, and educational opportunities needed for the workplace - before shoving things not usually in textbooks down their throats.  

Finally, Barbara needs to be a mentor - not someone reaching the glass ceiling and throwing the ladder away - not a person who would misuse personal information to justify a bad idea of a Professor who wasn't prepared for class - even if she was LGBT or a JD, that's no excuse for academic fraud.  We all have CVs. 

And those illegal Promissory Notes five years after canceling the woman MD/PhD student?  The information about the Harvard negotiation seminars is at http://www.pon.harvard.edu/tag/william-ury/ - but Barbara Snyder needs to learn to google - not in her script apparently.  Peter Poulos needs to grow up.  Tom Weber needs to find another way of getting money from women MDs who would 'play' the game called 'Case.'  The play needs a re-write.
