WARNING TO ALL FUTURE RENTERS OF 2871 Suncoast Lakes Blvd. Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte, Florida. Beware of Barbara Walters or B.J. Walters She Leases/Rents out homes in South Florida particular to Charlotte, Lee, and Sarasota Counties that she does not own. She will then steal/rob you blind. Here is her scam. She places an ad in news paper classifieds or on the potential abandoned property. Her unsuspecting victim/victims then calls her to rent the property (she does not own any of the properties)
She will charge you fifty to one hundred dollars to fill out her application. She will call you acting like you have some sort of credit problem then the next day she calls and says the company she uses entered your information in incorrectly but now all is fine it has been cleared up. She next collects from you First months rent, Next months rent, Last months rent, and a security deposit then you fill out and sign her lease which she will make all kinds of hand written modifications on it for you,in front of you and she intials each modification
(later she will claim it is not her hand writing or her initials or even her signature) the things she modifies are: she will pay the water, or pay for a grass service, or pool maintence and care or allow you to have certain pets or a certain number of pets, or parking a certain number of cars etc. After you move in she will arrive un-anounced and peek in through the windows at you all different times of the day or night when you try to run out side and catch her she hops into a waiting car of a friend and they take off.
If you call and ask her why she's looking thru the windows she says it wasn't her. She will then after you have lived in the house that first month and after she gets your rent payment she will call you saying she has changed her mind about something she modified for you on her lease and tell you in her Brittish/Engrish accent your just going to have to move out right now. Next without any other corresspondance from her you will be served with eviction paper work from a process server giving you a week to respond.
You go to court with or without an attourney and the case will be lost regardless.*NOTE*(You are not being evicted for not paying your rent but for something other than not paying rent) This and the fact that Barbara Walters doesn't even own the house and she never initials or signs her name the same way twice has that Attourney you hired short notice confused and scratching his head saying "but your Honor" That Judge will then give you 24 hours to get your stuff out of the house, which in Florida is near impossible because you can't find/rent a moving truck in that amount of time.
After the 24 hrs whatever you did not get out of the house she then takes and sells (your Furniture and poccessions clothes, Bibles, childrens toys etc.) then she starts selling and using your personal information from that rental application you gave her (which is Identity theft) and you are powerless to stop her. I and my family of six are one of approx. 25 families wo have fell victim of her scam. Like the other families we are all tied up somewhere in legal process waiting praying hoping to get at least that First, Next, Last Rent and Security returned for this awful lady of Charlotte County Florida. Who steals from families and claims to be Brittish Royalty from Cannada. Don't let her brittish accent fool you she is not a nice lady!
