BARCLAY / JUNIPER Fraud overlimit fees Wilmington Delaware
I had an overlimit fee on my bill.
To correct this matter I made a payment on time for the amount of the fee, the finance charge, the overlimit amount and amount of the original payment.
My next statement I had another over the limit fee.
When I called to complain, I was told that I had to pay my bill by the 2nd to avoid the fee even though my bill was not due until the sixth. I was told this was a legitimate fee and practice although it states nowhere on the bill that it must be paid early to avoid another over the limit fee. The supervisor said there was nothing he could do.
When I pointed out that they do not even ask for a payment which would put my account in good standing, the supervisor said they did not have to. That all that is required is to pay what is asked for. This keeps your account current even if you owe more or are over your limit. They can keep adding charges and only ask for the minimum payment without having to notify the consumer of anything. He suggested that I go back and read my agreement from about 15 years ago. This is a scandalous, deceiving practice and someone needs to look into this. I am sure this is not the only company or bank practicing these despicable charges.
