Barnard Haldane Professional Rip Offs Houston Texas *UPDATE ..the fight is on
My husband had been laid off due to downsizing for a contracting job. He had been sending out resumes during the whole time of his employment. Not getting any results I started looking for help. I called Barnard Haldane. I thought them to be a little testy on the phone and said they only would see someone with a degree. I told them my husband had 2 of them. They wanted to know where he had worked. I told them. They made an appointment to call him to disucss what ever they wanted to discuss. Needless to say they said they we both had to come in. It was important for the wife to come. We both went in. The SALESMAN was good really good.
He made all kinds of promices. We wrote a ck for $5900.00 for their help. Needless to say it has been a waste. He signed up in October 2001. They told us that November would be slow and December dead. We thought pretty much the same thing. Durning this time my husband took and made calls trying to get his resumes infront of the right people. One woman was kind enough to tell him that she thought his resume was impressive but there were some things that she thought he needed to remove.
After months of my husband going in every week and not anything happening I decided to call. I talked to the person that was supposed to be in charge and told her that I didn't think what they were doing was working. Through out the conversation she acted as though I had insulted her.
Finally after being insulted myself I blew a fuse. She agreeded to change the person that was supposed to be helping him. She discussed it with my husband and the change was made. This was three weeks ago. This new person was suppose the make numerous changes in his resume. She was also suppose to call him to let him know about those changes. She has not done that. He finally called her and she said that she had been out of town and had not been able to get to the changes in his resume. She ask him to come in March 4 2002 so that they could go over it. This is something that she should have taken care of and has not. I have convinced him not to go in until she has emailed it to him first. By the way she started with him THREE WEEKS ago and still has done nothing in the way of changing his resume.

After several months I wanted to see if anyone had nailed Bernald Haldane. I am still amazed that these BASTARDS are still screwing the public. What it wrong with our goverment??????????? The country is in a mess with unemployment and these people are still talking advandage of others. I encourage all of you that have been duped to continue to fight for your money back. I raised so much hell the Houston off made me go through the Austin office. They wouldn't even talk to me when I called. I called the BBB and also contacted the DA's office. We got our money back and believe me it wasn't easy but it sure made me feel good that I had enough guts to stand up to them. After going through the depression of unemployment and then these RIP OFF CLODS taking our money it was a double wammy. Stick to your guns and tell everyone you know about them. This sight has been a life saver. As far as I am concerned what they are doing is fraud and they should have their doors SHUT DOWN. I contacted the Gentlemen who wrote What Color Is Your Parachute and he confirmed what kind of people they are. It is difficult enough this day and time to find a job much less having to deal with CREEPS like these. T
hey made my husband sign some papers saying we wouldn't talk about it but I didn't sign a d**n thing so I am going to say anything I can to put these crooks out of business. Again I encourage everyone to STICK TO THEIR GUNS and NAIL Bernald Haldane for all thier lies and fight to get their money back. Don't settle for part of it or a mere token ask for ALL OF IT and DONT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. It's the squeeky wheel that gets the grease so raise hell until you get back what they took from you. As a former employee (receptionist), I can tell you that they target high-salary, middle aged professionals with a spouse and 2.5 kids at home. As the story goes, the professional has recently lost their position due to corporate downsizing, and the idea of paying 5k plus to find a new job is nothing because that professional is used to dealing with that kind of money for other business transactions.
The catch is that Bernard Haldane doesn't give you a job. For 5k plus, they talk to you. That is all they do. They talk. For 5k, I'd want a new job.
The trouble is that the professional doesn't realize that they aren't going to get one. Trust me, if you've lost your job, but have been working for 35k/year or more (those are Bernard Haldane's requirements, not mine), you already have the skills necessary to find a good job. You are probably also only concerned about getting food on the table, and if you have enough to pay the 5k, you think that by the time you get it back, you'll have plenty of money to pay off any debt you incur.
I've worked in a temp agency before, a real one, where the administration doesn't get paid until you do. Then, you are the asset, and you don't have to pay for anything. That's the way a job hunt should go. It's not that Bernard Haldane is directly illegal. They skirt around the law. It's that they're unethical. That's why my next day is my last here.
Just wanted everyone to know and keep going.

After numerous phone calls and letters to the Att General& Houston BBB we recieved a refund of $4917.00. Just wanted everyone to know and keep going.
Thank you for this sight and I hope others will have the chance to see it before something like this happens to them.

Well, the fight is on. After we were duped and I read about all the others that Barnard Haldane had lied to and decieved I decided that I would not just sit by and let them get away with it.
My husband and I have had alot to deal with since he was laid off. Much less getting screwed out of $5900.00. They said they would get him a job making $92000.00 per year and then we would also pay another $2000.00.
After 6 months of BS and screaming at them they finally stop taking my calls. I then filed with the Houston BBB and the Att General's office. They ofered to pay up $1100.00 in a refund. What a joke. The contract was suppose to be for 3 years. We believe a full refund is in order. Even at that we only used 6 months of their contract so we figured at the very least $4900.00 and some cents. In fact I have just mailed off my second letter the the Houston BBB and Att General in Texas.
By the way they said that is Barnard Haldane said that I could also go to SMALL CLAIM's COURT.
I think we should all get together and contact the media ie. 20 20, DateLine, PrimeTime and our local TV Stations and let them know what awful people they are. By the time you get through dealing with their promices you think and your better half are on your way to a better job and you start thinking about how it is going to be again.
You sweat the house payments, and what ever else you have pay when you are out of work hoping that these creeps, swines are going to help you find the job of your dreams. By the time you shell out the amount they figure they can get out of you, you are really in a hell of a mess.
ou keep thinking all this BS they are telling you is going to make things OK and you will be back to work in a third of the time because they are the best and are going to do all these things to help you. Well, when you finally discover that all the things they told you are lies you feel not only stupid but down right taken advandage of. I know we did.
When I started making racket and asking them questions they hung up on me wouldn't take my calls and more or less let me know that I could go to hell. They fowarded a letter I sent them to the woman in Dallas, Texas, Robin Upton. Scott Raychel was the salesman, Mark Niles was the counselor. Mark spent most of his time talking to my husband about a woman he used to date that was married to a guy that I used to work with when I was in sales. His resume had incorrect spelling and my husband corrected that. He recieved several neg remarks about his resume. We finally got another counselor. Nancy Wischmeier. She was supposed to change his resume. It took her three weeks to do that.
Finally we stayed up one night and came up with one that we thought was really good. My husband then emailed her his formant and I will be damned if she didn't email the same thing back just like the one we had done. My husband emailed her and told her that he wouldn't be in for his appointment. She said that she didn't realize that it was that important???????????? Well what the hell was she thinking???????????????????
Three weeks and still she hasn't done what she was supposed to. One time when he was to go in she was getting her hair done. Well to make a long story shorterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr we are still going back and forth. I think that we should all band together and do what we can to force them to make ammends or leave the business altogether.
There are snakes in the grass and have no morals considering they take advandage of people when they are at their lowest. If any of you are intrested in making a difference I would like to hear from you. Maybe we all together can make a difference and SAVE SOME OTHER POOR SOUL from this scam. I just can't see sitting back and letting this go on. Knowing what I know and what my husband and I have gone through and seeing what others have gone through don't you think it is time to stand up and BE HEARD?????????? I SURE DO!!!!!!!!!!!
