Barnes and Noble Nook Ripoff Internet
I bought a Nook and after a few months, it suddenly started showing strange characters at the bottom of the screen. I took it to a B&N physical store, and the worker there told me it was a manufacturer's defect. He attempted to exchange the Nook there in the store, but when he found out I bought it from Best Buy, he gave us the address and instructions to mail the Nook in. As soon as corporate got the Nook, they told me I must have dropped it, that it was no manufacturer's defect. When I explained the in-store interaction, they said they would investigate. After three weeks of "investigation" (during which time they kept asking me to call back every few days), they decided they would not repair or replace the Nook. Please don't buy the Nook, they apparently have a defect, and Barnes and Nobel will NOT support you to have this item replaced or repaired! This item is under the one year warranty still, and yet B&N will not fix it!
