THIS IS A HABITUAL PRACTICE AT BARNEY GREENGRASS. MOE MUST NOT BE VERY PROUD OF HIS CHILD.

Prior to Yom Kippur, I placed an order with Gary owner of BARNEY GREENGRASS, a legendary UPPER WEST SIDE eatery. Gary accepted the order reluctantly though he advised some $400+ worth of product for my forthcoming BREAK THE FAST Dinner. His instructions were to arrive for pickup at 7 am the morning of YOM KIPPER eve.

I arrived at the appointed time and after waiting in line outside the store for much time was told that my AMEX CARD was declined. As I had no other choice, I paid in cash and received the product and a little yellow post it stating paid.

Two months later, Gary charged my Amex card over $400.00. I disputed the charge with Amex. Gary lied to Amex stating many things that did not happen. I answered with the truth and the charge was not honored.

Several weeks later, while I was in Europe, Gary accosted my husband on the street and falsely complained that he was not paid. My husband covered the false charge based upon Gary's lies.

This place is a well known eatery whose undesreved reputation does not obviate its lack of service, unkempt and badley in need of a redecoration interior. But in no case, should you pay cash!
