Complaint Review: Barrett Motorcars - Dustin Barrett

Hello Cindy. I live in Rowlett not to far from this business. I'm curious as to what form you need that needs to be notarized. I'm sure since your in Louisiana the DMV rules for registering a vehicle are different than in Texas..but either way I was just curious. Also I was wondering if there wasn't someone in your local DMV..a supervisor.. you could talk to to see if there was some other way or some loophole you could take advantage of in order to get the car registered since the dealer won't send you the form your needing..

Also have you consulted a attorney?

It is now Feb 24th and it has been two months and all I want to do is get the car registered and get tags which are expired so I can drive the vehicle I purchased two months ago! I can not get any response from Dustin Barrett of Barrett Motorcars. All he has to do is send a one page notarized form so I can get the car licensed! He doesn't return any of my text messages and his voice mail is always full. In response to the other peoples responses whom state they were treated fairly by this company - I am am happy for you. But put yourselves in my shoes and if you had paid cash for a car two months ago and then you can not get it icensed because all the company has to do is send a simple form and he doesn't take care of his business. What do you suggest? Do you think you would be a happy customer not being able to drive a car because you have expired tags and can not register it. You people act lie I want to waste my time on this. I could care less now about getting the CD magazine, car key, Car books which by the way were a part of the agreement. I just want to get the car licensed! Granted it would be nice to get those items but since I can not even get any type of response I mainly want the car title done properly soI can register the car!

After hearing Mr. Barrett's wife express concern regarding this site, I have decided to type a simple note to back Barrett Motorcars and Mr. Barrett himself.

When my wife was pregnant, I lost my job. With not much money, we needed a vehicle for our growing family. I came to Dustin and he went above and beyond to help me find an appropriate and safe car for my new family. He sold me the car for only what money he had in it and to this day I am personally thankful to him for helping me with my needs.

For consumers reading these reports, please do not let one bad egg ruin the whole carton. As you will notice, there are many more great things about this company as opposed to one negative report by one lady.

You are such a con artist. It has been two (2) months and I still can not register the car. I have a car with expired tags and I can not register it! You lie and lie and say it is "in the mail". You think because you sold a car for less than what YOU think it is worth and put new tires on it you can treat me the way you do. How am i thinking I am a Queen - all I want is to register the car and you can not mail a simple form so I can do it. The entire car transaction has been this way - you say one thing and NEVER follow through. Your word is not worth anything! You sent a title which you did not complete correctly. You only signed it where you purchased the car not where you sold it to me so I CAN NOT register it. I CAN NOT drive a car with expired tags! You act like this is all over a key, CD magazine, and books. Yes it sould have been nice tohave received these items since you said you had them and said over and ove again "it was in the mail"but of course it wasn't! Now we have been going over and over again to get the proper documentation to get the ca licensed. All you have to do is send ONE form so I can register it but you can't even do it. You ae full of it by saying you contacting the State DMV because I indeed did and you are in violation of LOTS of rules and regulations. You will be audited according to the Texas DMV. Hopefully you will be fined and your license suspended and hopefully taken away! You can say ALL you want to about me.I have purchased many of cars over the years and I have never dealt with anyone as unscruplous as you! Just send me the form as you have been saying or should I say texting because you are not man enough to answer the phone. I even had a friend whom lives in Dallas willing to meet with you to get the items and you couldn't even meet with him because a ice storm was coming - it wasn't even there yet and of course you put him off. Yes I am going to follow through with my complaints and as you say threats. All of this over trying to get a correct car title to register a vehicle I paid cash for two months ago. You can try and sugar coat it any way you want but the truth is the truth. You are nothing but a lier and a con artist! Again I guess "IT IS IN THE MAIL" per your words again!

I would like to say that I have done business with BARRETT MOTORCARS on several occasions, and yes I am a re-occuring customer who is very pleased with this dealership, Mr.Barrett has always been very up front and truthful with his cars, and has always backed his sales. He has furnished me with highend cars that look brand new and low mile vehicles with outstanding sale prices. I highley recomend this Dealership. If its not on the lot, he will help you find what you need. I am amazed at this woman and her acusations, this type of person is what has made this country fall, I have sent many friends to BARRETT MOTORCARS and they have had no trouble at all, I recomend this dealership to everyone I know. I would just like to say to this woman, get busy with somehing else in your life and stop trying to bring down other people and hurt thier lively hood, just because you are not happy with your husband, and his suprise to you, sounds like you have issues.

I am Dustin Barrett and boy i cant wait to tell my side of the story! 1st of all yes MR. Morris did come down and buy a 2005 JAG STYPE R for 13900.00 first of all anyone who reads this go check what big dealerships are asking for this car, then go check the nada i sold that car to them 4k behind book. I did purchase the car at an auction because thats where you go to buy vehicles so i had the car for a week and they came and bought it with a cashiers check great! you see people this lady CINDI is leaving out lots of stuff like before they came i went and got 4 brand new tires for the car for 298.00. Yes your reading correctly 298.00 for 4 brand new tires and they are 19in i gave them my price i could have easily chrged over 500 for the set and got it not to mention going to get the tires and having them put on and balanced. Second when you buy a car from the auction the title doesnt arrive for 2-3 weeks depending on what dealer sold it in this case it was ASTON MARTIN of Dallas and it took longer i have the paperwork when i recieved the title and it was mailed out next day. Third about 90% of the time those type of cars the auction takes out the books cd mag and xtra keys so nobody steals them so yes i did say that i would have all that but all i recieved was 1 xtra key and the cd magazine the books that came with it were from an 03 for some reason. What miss CINDI fails to mention is that the front grill piece had to be painted and i did send a key but it was a vallet key she being the spoiled person she is , is mad its not like the origional key. And as far as being in violation of dmv procedures for a cash sale and out of state sale the only 2 papers you get are a bill of sale and an as is which they recieved and lost. Now what cindi also forgot to mention was the countless threats and insults we recieved from them saying they are gonna have channel whatever do a news story on us and she will make sure we are shut down if its the last thing she does! Well i told her bring it on we have done nothing to scam theese people and i am sorry that all the items didnt come from the auction like i thought but all this is over an owners manual which i found a website that they can print for free www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com check it out, well thats not good enough for cindi , also what gps ? The gps is located in the trunk she wants a book to the gps? And a key that she recieved but it was the vallet key and cindy wants one just like the main key. Well im sorry but thats what it came with. So to sum it all up all this is over a book , key , and a cd mag. Wow! Let me ask you the readers a question would you want to pay 18k for the same car with books, keys , cd mag , and whatever else she says or pay 14000.00 including new tires and get a vallet key the grill piece and the cd mag? The reason i told her to bring the fuc$in car back is because i dont put up with people making threats saying they are going to shut me down and countless name calling now i could understand if all this was over they bought the car and it broke down or something but come on all this for a book a key and a cd mag? Your dam right i said bring it back i would gladly give them a refund to rid myself of this headache for the profit that was made on this vehicle wasnt worth it. What you have here is a woman who isnt getting her way , then she tells a story and tells what she wants you to hear its kind of funny i sold over 160 cars last year and this is the 1st time i have had to deal with this , this is ridiculous i have contaced the state as well and made them aware of her threats and the whole situation. I have not violated any laws or procedures. Now as far as being shady how am i shady? Because it wasnt done on her time? Well im sorry i run this dealership with one person and its alot of work. This woman acts like i'm keeping this stuff from her and yes i was wrong for assuming all the stuff would come as usual so for that i am sorry! But if you think getting a great deal on a great car is shady then go and buy a car from whoever you choose but i stand behind my business notice she didnt bring the car back why? She is obviously happy with the vehicle it had no mechanical issues and they bought it from me because it was a good deal every other jag s type r was going for 18k to 21k with the same miles. Simply put if you want to save thousands of dollars on an awsome car call me , if you want free sodas , and candy , and someone to kiss your a$$ and let you treat them like dirt call a franchise dealer , but im sure you would rather save thousands! I am sorry about the delay of sending the items and they werent what she wanted and how she wanted them but thats life she recieved what items i got from the auction and the title. So i say again all this is over a book , a key that she got , a grill pice which she got , and a cd mag. And her not being treated like royalty well i'm sorry shes not a queen shes the kind of person who will go out of her way to slander someones business and threaten the way a man makes his living over her not getting what she wants or how she wants it. And the reason we stopped answering her calls was because of the constant threats and name calling , im sorry but i dont let people treat me that way i understand this is a business and the customer is always right but i'm will not be treated like dirt or be accused of trying to scam someone i work hard for my money and i treat people all people with respect and go out of my way for my customers and if all my customers had the time cindi does im sure this ripoff report would be full of rebuttles in my favor.
