Barrington Jewels Inept and Incapable Jewelers! ripoff Indianapolis Indiana

Back in May, my fiance and I went in search of a ring. We ended up at Barrington Jewels on the north side of Indianapolis. We purchased a 1ct diamond and paid them to make a ring for us.

Barrington Jewels told us that they were going to make a wax cast that we could look at before they actually made the ring. We were told it would take about a week for the wax. After about ten days I called Barrington Jewels to inquire as to the status of the wax, and was told that they were casting the ring. Barrington Jewels said they didn't know we wanted to see the wax.

So we waited for another week for the ring. We picked it up. It looked ok, but had a deep scratch on the side of it. We took it back to Barrington Jewels had them buff it out.

Then the diamond fell out.
We were at dinner and the diamond fell out of the ring.

We took the ring back to Barrington Jewels and a week or so later they called and said it was all ready. My fiance picked it up, called me, and said This thing is all screwed up. Sure enough It was. The diamond was crooked, the ring looked twisted. You didn't need a loop to see the flaws. It was visible to the naked eye.

So we took it back, and again, Barrington Jewels said they would work on it. They had it a few more days. We went to pick it up and the thing was still all jacked up. I'm telling you this thing looked like a child put it together. Anyway By this time, we were getting ready to go on our trip to get married, and needed a ring for the ceremony. They told us to take it and that they would fix it when we got back.

The photographer took one of those hand shots You can tell on the picture that the ring is messed up.

We get back from our wedding, take the ring back. Barrington Jewels keeps it another week, call us, tell us its all ready to go.

Nope. It's still not right, and Barrington Jewels has shaved so much of the ring down that now it's about half the size of the original. So they tell us we will start all over

Yeah, it's a long story It has been a long and painful experience. Ring is now a four letter word in our house.

To cut it short We finally asked Barrington Jewels for our money back. We have been married now for two months, and now we have to start shopping for a ring again. We started this process back in May, and now it is October, seasons have passed, we are married, and my wife has no ring.

I have to give Barrington Jewels this much credit I think they really did want to make the ring right. I just don't think that Barrington Jewels was capable of doing it. And when we finally gave up on them, after FOUR MONTHS, they did give us our money back. But I didn't care about the money in the first place I just wanted my wife to have a ring.

Erik,

We apologize for your negative experiance. As you noticed we tried our best to satisfy you.  What you are leaving out is that you requested a ring cast out of tungston, and plated with white gold and that you insisted on sizing the ring after the stones had been set and ring had been cast. It is literally impossible for us to begin a casting with out approval because we need a payment. In addition, you and your wife chose an I2 diamond which stands for Included 2 (one of the lowest tiers in diamond ratings). Had you chosen a finer diamond the inclusions would not have been present, you simply insisted on a larger stone at a lower cost which is fine. But again, you chose this stone before the process was started. It is curious as to how once we set the stone you decide its not to your liking. 

Further more, we applied a full refund to you and your wife.

We did everything you asked, but you simply did not like anything that was done. We have been servincing the Midwest for the past 30 years and provide individualized and personal customer service. Infact, I remember giving you my cell phone number in case you need anything at all. 

This is an outdated review, and approaches a state of slander. We hope anyone reading this will view the above accrecited website and note our amazing customer experiences.
