In October 2001, I was contacted by the BABC (I wonder what businesses they represent) and told that I had qualified for an unsecured credit card with $2000.00 credit limit. Mr. Williams Operator #104 told me that it was a 0% interest for the first year. They needed an authorization to deduct $184.0 from my account. This being taken out, I waited and waited for my card. No Show. Meanwhile there were continued unauthorixed deductions taken from my account. My bank was helpful in getting some of these returned to me. They also deducted under the names of ephone and a home security company. After repeated calls to the BABC, they told me that they had changed banks, and therefore things were taking longer than usual. They sent me an application for a secured card (The same kind my local bank offers for free. After this, I began contacting the Better Business Bureau. After several letters, they refunded me part, and only part, of what they took. I also changed my bank account, but they managed to find out the new number, and began taking out unauthorized deductions. They are also now selling my account to other businesses. During all this time, I have letters from the BABC signed by the following: RP McMurphy, Dir. Membership Svcs. Anita M. Coorey, Compliance Officer Peter J. Porcelli II, CEO. I also have stated in one of their letters ,"BABC is licensed and bonded by the State of Florida reg # ST-32105." This is a rip-off " business" I will also report this to the Florida attorney general the the FTC. Norma Jean Palisade, Colorado
