I visited the office on January 10, 2008 and paid for services rendered at that time via check. I was given a quote for denture services in the amount of $3640.00. They assisted me in opening a CareCredit account and charged $3600.00 to that account and then collected $40.00 from me via check. I do not wish to proceed with the treatment plan proposed. No services under this proposed treatment plan have been rendered, yet the office is refusing to credit my CareCredit account and refund me my $40.00.

My daughter and my nephew have both spoken to Beverly Firmani and to Dr. Firmani himself. They have both refused to issue a refund stating they have a no refund policy. They state I signed a contract. No contract was signed. The only contract I signed was with CareCredit promising to pay them back. No services were rendered. I dont know why this dentist is being so difficult about crediting my CareCredit account and refunding me my $40.00. I am a 76 year-old woman on a fixed income. I find this both ethically and morally wrong. I am highly disturbed by this.

Many reasons for dentures

I do nor know this dentist nor the OP. This CareCredit is for the birds! It is just another way to stick someone in DEBT and it isn't anyone's business why the OP needed to get a refund. It is nuts to charge anyone almost $4k for dentures!

There are many reasons for needing dentures and needing them at the age of 76 is not in any way, shape or form because of not caring for your teeth! Until you have had diseases that erode your teeth and gums you really need to have some empathy and understanding! Many people have dentures for other reasons besides just "not caring for your teeth".

It is sad that this dentist tried to mess over a. 76 year old woman, SHAME on HIM!

Dr Victor Firmani is not a rip off as a former patient-

I have found Dr.Firmani and his staff to be exceptional in service and in quality of services rendered. I am an 85 year old patiernt of his and with full upper and lower dental implants I find them a god send. I now can eat and not worry about my dentures. Dr. Firmani was refered to me by another well known and respected dentist and I found his services very professional having been in the dental field for several years. I know for a fact some dental franchies use "cheap" materal and a "micro oven" type of curing system and the end results are dentures that crack or break under normal use. I have had my implants for well over one year and I am happy to talk to anyone.

I wonder why Ms. Matilde Remirez never returned for the work she contracted for.
Could it be she found a "cheaper price" with cheaper materal

Dr. Firmani is the best denture specialist in Corpus Christi

Dr. Firmani espouses the 4 C's in my book.........character, credibility, caring and concern. It has been my experience that Dr. Firmani is of exceptional character....concerned about his patients and their welfare; an expert on correcting bad dental habits (and you know you need dentures because you neglected good dental hygiene, in most cases), and he really cares if you are happy with your smile.

Reading Ms. Ramirez' complaint, I wonder why she didn't complete her treatment? Did she decide she couldn't afford the monthly payments, or what? Also, why did she expect the doctor to refund all her money, AND give her the X Rays, AND his time for free? As a business professional, I expect to be compensated for my time, why shouldn't Dr. Firmani charge for his time examining patients and his recommendations, his staff's time, and X Rays? Not to mention the fees the credit card company charged him to process the charge. Frankly, I would trust my dental health to Dr. Firmani...........I've heard nothing but good things about him from my friends and family. It just goes to show, no matter how much you give, there's always somebody who thinks your time, talents and service should be free.

Bay Area Denture Clinic - Dr. Victor S. Firmani *Update*

I received a letter from Dr. Firmani and a refund check for $3,250.00. They stated they were not refunding the entire $3640.00 requested because they are charging me a $180.00 merchant fee that CareCredit charged their office, $120.00 for 3 late cancellations or missed appointments and $40.00 for a laboratory fee. Even with these fees they are $40.00 short. I dont feel I should be charged the $180.00 because they should not have charged the account to begin with. I should not have to pay for their error or misjudgment. I was going to consider absorbing one late cancellation fee because I do feel that I failed to give ample notice to cancel an appointment, but Beverly Firmani, the dentists wife and office manager refused to release my x-rays a few days agp and told my daughter to contact their attorney. This violates Medical Practice Act, 159.005. A formal complaint was sent to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and to the Texas Medical Board regarding this. I had to pay another dentist to have these x-rays retaken. Finally, I am unsure what laboratory fee they are referring to. I think they are trying to defraud me. A second dispute was sent to the office requesting the rest of my monies.
