Bay Ridge Nissan is, in brief, an extremely unprofessional, unethical establishment.

Besides the fact that they misinformed me about the car I was interested in, forced my friend to stay inside while I saw the car, kept switching the prices on the car, and, at the last minute, tried the oldest trick in the book, the bait and switch, they are trying to keep the refundable deposit money I put down on the car.

Benjamin, the salesman, gave me a receipt for a fully refundable deposit which the dealership still has not returned.  Every phone call ends either in promises of a callback, or in evasive responses.  The last time I called asking about the delay of the refund, Benjamin hung up on me!  This dealership and this salesman are despicable.

I have already complained to Nissan of North America and to the DMV since this is in violation of DMV regulations.  If you encounter similar problems, I urge you to do the same so that people don't have to go through this in the future.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and simply avoid dealing with these unprofessional car dealers at all costs.  These people are liars and crooks.  As though the auto industry is not in enough trouble . . .

A deposit is ALWAYS A SUCKERS DEAL. It guarantees NOTHING to the buyer.

If they were putting you under all that drama did you put a deposit on the car, refundable or not. NO car in this economy is in that much of a demand to require a deposit to hold it for you. I hope you actually used a credit card or personal check for the deposit. If so dispute with your issuer that it was fraudulently charged or stop payment on the check. If you did put cash...well I'm not gonna respond to that one.

Good luck
