My wife has been a heart patient with Baylor, Scott and White for just under two years. She End Stage Congestive Heart
Failure and has had an infection at the drive line site since 7/23/2015. We have undergone 6 weeks of Antibiotic Therapy and the condition has not gone away. Yesterday, we were seen by the Infection Disease group after I had contacted the LVAD Coordinator who told us to come to the Emergency Department. Within the hour, we were contacted directly by the Infection Disease Department stating they wanted to see us that day and to be prepared for an admission. I dropped everything and threw all my time and resources to pack my wife's medical equipment, clothing and other items she would need for a 3 to 5 day stay in the Temple Hospital. Upon our arrival we were told by the Infection Disease Doctor that "Transplant is not onboard for your admission" so we were denised. When I asked to see Dr. Allen Lynn Anderson who had made the decision, I was told by his Nurse, Shannon Cross he was not going to talk with me. This incident has not inspired my confidence in the organization and I have never heard of any Hospital Company that allowed one physican to veto the decision of another in the same organization.

We are looking at moving my wife's health care to another vendor for this reason. We reside in the Austin Area and it is one hour and half in driving time to and from the Temple facility and when we first moved here, we were told the Temple facility was the only Hospital in Central Texas capable of dealing with my wife's heart condition, but I have since learned that Seaton Offers heart care.
