Recently while traveling we had the opportunity to stay at a very nice chain hotel in North Carolina and the front desk clerk asked us to sign up for Wyndham Rewards and begin earning points for every night stayed at over 4,000 properties worldwide. We were offerred 6,000 bonus points just for signing up.

We were guaranteed exclusive offers for reservations and a single number to call for multiple nationally advertised and well known brands that were all owned by Wyndham. Traveling for both leisure and business it was great to have one number to call for reservations.

We have currently stayed at 5 of these affiliated properties and are still waiting for the bulk of our rewards points to post. This is NOT the core of our complaint though. We were married this past Friday and made reservations for a local property in the system called BAYMONT INNS AND SUITES located near our home.

Upon arriving I asked the front desk clerk to ensure that we were credited with our rewards points and he was very rude when he informed me that we were not eligible as we booked through Expedia. After assuring him that I called the Wydham Reservations Desk directly he became beligerant and refused to look into the matter even when I attempted to show him the reservation email on my Android.

I provided a credit card when making my reservation and upon checking in was told I would have to provide the card for any damages. I was assured that NO charges would be made to the card. I NEVER authorized any charges or transactions to my card.

Not wanting to argue on my wedding night I simply decided to deal with it the following morning. Now both my bride and I smoke and we requested a smoking room and upon making our way to the farthest point in the hotel we got into our dingy room with drapes hanging off the hook and track system, dirty pillow cases and low and behold no ashtray.  I attempted to use the phone to contactthe front desk and the phone wasn't working so after getting my wife settled I went back to the fronk desk and asked for an ashtray....after some looking around and comments regarding smokers by the front desk clerk I was told they would bring me one in a few minutes.

After using the paper cups provided for the coffee machine in the room and 45 minutes later our ashtray arrived. I guess expecting a clean ash tray to be delivered was asking too much.

The following morning I went to get breakfast in the lobby for my wife and I and the juice machine was out of order, the coffee was like dish water and the fresh fruit looked like something that may have been purchased at the Wal Mart across the street. I stopped at the front desk and spoke to a very kind lady named Tammy who assured me that she would look into my concerns and in addition to making sure I got my reward points she would have her General Manager Todd credit us with an additional 500 reward points for our concerns and troubles.

Upon checking out I was given a reciept showing no charges and we were on our way. Later that day we discovered our bank account was $20.00 short and a quick check on the Android revealed a charge by the hotel had been processed the night before. I stopped and called the hotel directly and was told that it was a charge for incidentials and it was normal procedure. I was assured after some debating that it would be removed right away. On Tuesday morning the charge was still there and upon calling the hotel back again and speaking to Tammy she informed me there was no such charge made and asked me to fax her my bank information. I did one better, I brought her the print out from my bank with important information blacked out.

Upon arriving at the hotel I met with Tammy and she again assured me there were no charges and my bank must be mistaken. Then she brought the infamous Gneral Manager Toff out who informed me there was an incidentials charge and that he would take care of it right away if I would provide him with my banks phone number and contact information. He also assured me that he would personally contact the rewards desk and have my points credited to my account.

This morning as I awake and prepare for another day of HONEST LABOR I see no credit for my 20 bucks or my rewards points. I am out $97.00 for a stay in one of the WORST nationally known branded properties I have ever stayed in and I am fed up with scams like this!!! How many people have had these charges on their cards and never caught them? How many people have been forced to stay in these terrible conditions when traveling and stuck with no other place to go late at night and hundreds of miles from home?
