I checked my account Jan.4 2011 and notice I had a low balance in my account, so that early morning I drove to the nearest bank(20 mins) away to deposit $140 dollars cash and that was @ 10 am. I check my bank and cash was posted and available right away. I was relieved to see that I have sufficient funds and I even check it midnight before I went to bed and money is still there. Next day, I woke up with a nightmare!! I check my account online Jan.5 and saw flaming red--just because there was posted on Jan. 4 $4.14, $4.92, $5.40 and $7.51 total to $21.97 that BBT claim that I no sufficient fund was enough to cover the amount in spite of the $141 dollars I have more than enough to cover those funds. They charge me $140 dollars NSF fee even if money was available same day my cash deposit was there. This is totally Unfair Banking!! I was shaking in panic attack,, crying for I know that I needed that money to buy grocery for my family and lunch money for my kids. I can't believe how somebody can rip-off people like that.. I ask for help and of course, I have the same trained arrogant manager who just told me "you can't beat the system!" and this is how it works!--It was nowhere near in their site nor will they tell you or give you any information how their ACH process works..It's a game to them, their policy. change it anytime they want to and they will not tell you how it works to begin with for they want you to fall into their trap and lose. Once you bank with them, forget about your money it's no longer yours for it's theirs. You can try to fight for your money to get it but they are all unsympathetic and they feast over every individual victim they get..Yes I will join forces to all victims like me to make sure BBB review this unfair banking process with BB&T, meanwhile, I will be closing this short-term but malignant relationship with them--it's been a hell of 1 year with them and if I stay with them hoping they get better, I'm afraid you might find me in the obituaries dead in hunger for they suck my money!! and they will not change until we further take actions to this matter.Any of you readers that read this, please save yourself before this bank (Bad Banking Team) will take your tomorrow away as they did to my family and me now we have to starve for a week and 1/2 until next time I get paid since BB&T will not give us our money back..FYI.both my sisters who teaches senior high school will make sure they know not to bank with this bank and I will make sure my experience be known to everyone that listens

Well, your very first line said it all. It told me that you do not maintain a checkbook register. That is the root of your problems here. No rip off, just bad accounting on your end.

"I checked my account Jan.4 2011 and notice I had a low balance in my account, so that early morning I drove to the nearest bank(20 mins) away to deposit $140 dollars cash and that was @ 10 am."

You should never have to "check your account" as you stated.

The ONLY way to PROPERLY determine your available balance is with your checkbook register. NEVER rely on online banking or telephone banking to determine your abailable balance.

You WILL have "problems" with ANY bank you go to if you don't learn how to keep an accurate checkbook register. Guaranteed.

And it makes the problem even worse as I see you are a person who makes every little purchase with your debit card, like all of those $4-$7 debits. That is just asking for trouble in relation to the low balance you maintain, and the cost of NSF fees.

I have banked with BB&T for over 4 years now and have not ever had even 1 problem, but I maintain an accurate checkbook register.

Stop being stupid, lazy, or whatever your malfunction is here and just maintain an accurate register. Rely only on that register and nothing else, and you will be OK.

No rip off here.

Try depositing funds into the account before attempting to withdraw the money and the process will flow smoother.
