i only make debit purchases with my atm card to ensure fund avalibility.bank claims merchant put hold on payment. when checking availibility of funds and cleared checks,automated system varified amount and date check posted,no way to have knowledge of pending transactions from automated system,there should be no holds on debit purchases,bank operations center told me even on a credit purchase the bank withdraws the funds so the automated system will be correct when suppling information on current balance.they are charging account when balance is low for transactions that are reported cleared by automated system and checks written to utility companies who are in town two or three weeks after company should have recieved them and sent them to bank.example three checks arrive at local utilities companys on july 6th,automated system says checks cleared july 9th bank reports one of the checks caused overdraft and multipul debit purchases proceed them and debit purchases occur after the 9th
