Complaint Review: BB&T Bank

BB&T Bank took over our small town F&M Bank in April, 2002. They assumed my mortgage and auto loan and checking and savings accounts.

Since that time my financial situation has been a nightmare of mistakes by BB&T and a substantial loss of money on my part.

They made mistakes paying my real estate taxes from escrow 3 times, meaning I'm paying the penalty and late fees, my checking account was never, I repeat never up to date computer wise and no one there could ever tell me what the problem was.

I cancelled the automatic payments on my mortgage and auto loans and 5 weeks later they are still trying to take it out of my checking account and charged me $32.00 for insufficient funds.

I would estimate that I payed them probably $400.00 in fees since April of this year. I don't think I ever paid more than $50.00 in years banking with the F&M Bank that used to be in our town.

Everyone I talk to in Lovettsville hates this bank and has a horror story to go with it. If there were ever a way to get rid of them, I would be leading the pack.
