BB&T (Branch Banking & Trust) slogan " You can tell we want your business" is a joke.. They are "NOT" at all looking out for the comsumer. Hopefully everyone knows that when you use your ATM Debit card the funds are automatically taken from your checking account, ( the bank does not wait for the merchant to send in the receipts for the debit, they go ahead and substract the debit from you checking account balance)so like me what if a merchant lost your debit, or the merchant got robbed, or the place of business burned down, (of course don't want neither of the two to happen), then you have a heck of a time, and a long period of time before you can prove and recieve that debit back to your account.

This is the kicker. Everyone should know, and I didn't know, that when you have 2, 3, 4 , 5, ect.. transactions come in at one time, you would think they would substract them as they came in, but no, they substract them from the highest transaction to the lowest, that's even including the debits,(which they have been substracted at the time of use.) My point! I had 7 transactions come in on one day, 3 of them were debits, (which you would think they would substract them first because they have allready taken the money from them, but no 2 of the debits were the smallest amount so they were substracted last. If they would have substracted the transactions as they came in (even though they all came in the same day) then I would have had one NSF which was my fault, but they substracted these transactions from the hightes amount to the lowest amount, which caused me to have 4 NSF's , so that's a $120.00 that BB&T took from their comsumer, (me)..

When I called and questioned how they substracted transactions that came in the same day, and was told from the highest amount to the lowest, it honestly blew me away. You would think they would be looking out for the comsumer and substracting them as they came in or from the lowest to the highest, so THEIR comsumer would have a less of a chance to get hit with NSF's. So I told the representive that I spoke with that the reason they did it they way is so they would have a GREATER chance of getting NSF's from the people that trust them, People like you & me..

I think it's a shame that they can get away with this, so if anyone has any advice or know of a Banking Commission, or someone,or somewhere I may get some help with this, please, please let me know... That's a $120.00 of my hard earned money, that BB&T's Crooky way of getting NSF's from their comsumers..
Your help to put a stop to this would be greatly appreciated.. I don't plan on stopping here...

If you have any info. that will help with this issue, Reply to this Ripoff Report..

Please lets don't let the banks get away with this!

ALL banks do this

To my understanding, ALL banks do this. They also take debits from the account BEFORE they credit the deposits, reguardless of which was done first by the customer.

Banks are in business to make a profit, that's the simple truth.
