I use my Visa Checkcard for virtually all transactions. As I understand the policy, if used and approved the transaction is valid. However, I have incurred NSF charges with my bank, BB&T, on three seperate occassions resulting from use of this card. Each instance cost me $30 although the charge was honored by the bank. When contacted, the accounts manager was rude and obnoxious. She basically told me, an accountant, that I should pay more attention to my balance. I subsequently refused to pay the fees and allowed the account to stand with a negative balance. However, I also have a business account with this same branch, unrelated to the personal account. This bank took it upon itself to go into that account and transfer $139.85 to the personal account to cover the negative balance and then close the account all without my knowledge or consent. That represents larceny and fraud in my opinion. I think the customer service rep should be terminated immediately and BB&T in general investigated. Those NSF charges are invalid and should not have occurred. I have three accounts to draw from. Had there been a problem, I could simply have used another account rather than incur such charges. Stay away from BB&T. They are crooks in silk suits waiting to steal your money every chance they get. BEWARE!!!!!!!
