Complaint Review: BBG Internation Satelite Communications

Last October(2007) on our first trip out of the United States we went to Ireland. My wife and I decided to make a phone call back to the United States using the phone in the hotel room. My wife talked to the operator and she connected us to our home phone where some relatives were staying with my elderly father in-law.

The operator never stated what the connection fee or what the cost per minute would be. We talked for eleven minutes and it cost us $71.85. Thankfully we only made one call using the room phone. We found other phones that stated the price to call back to the United States. These phones only cost fifty cents for seven minutes. I figure the eleven minute call should only have cost us $1.00, not $71.85.

I am working with the hotel from where we made the phone call from the room. The hotel's contact has talked to BBG and they stated they wanted to refund my money. That was two weeks ago an I have not heard from BBG. I sent another E-mail to my contact at the hotel and he has again contacted BBG!

I could not get my credit card company to charge back this call because I did not have any documented proof that BBG overcharged me. What do you think?
