have lived at the same address for the last five years. Two years ago our Hydro bill more than tripled even though my consumption has not changed. We cannot understand Hydro's eratic way of billing and threatening to cut us off. Two years ago I paid a yearly equal payment plan.  All of a sudden Hydro said I used $700 more electricity over and above what I had payed in equal payment plan of about $78 a month, I was threatened with termination of electricity. I borrowed money to pay the seven hundred dollars and my equal payment plan went up to $160 a month even though I did not use more electricity. We had an electrician check out our panel and lines. He could not see how we needed to pay that amount.  It has taken a year for hydro to set a date to check our meter to see if it is faulty Two days ago I recieved another threatening letter saying I owed them another $307.98. plus our regular bill.   Three neighbours around us are paying less than $80 every two months....same size modular home...same amount of occupants. My husband and l live very simply and frugally on old age pension retiring by 8:30 at night setting our thermometer to 64.   i use washer and dryer twice a week, never use a dishwasher and never use oven for baking. We have gas furnace,,, we never leave lights on as we have eight skylights. We realize BC Hydro has no competition...there corporate demands are seldom questioned, as we, senior citizens cannot afford a good lawyer.
