I called Beach Time rentals the Wednesday before Memorial day weekend.  They rented me a cottage on the beach for 1K guarantying beach access.
Upon arrival I noticed high grass and weeds between thwe rental and the beech which was about 300 yards from rental.  When I attempted to walk to the beach with my 6 year old grandson we were covered with sand spurs. He cried in pain as I bent to pick him up I noticed less than ten feet from us was a Pigmy Rattle Snake curled up.  I was now white with fear as I picked up my grandson and headed back.  After that experience I would not allow any of my family to walk through the Marsh of grass and weeds.
Upon complaint to Beach time I was told the city owns the beach and it is out of their hands.
These people just rent and disappear, the phone did not work, the TV was small and worthless, I was promised a disc player that was not there,  and there was one fan for the whole house.  Dont rent from these people if you value your week end.

In response to your letter, upon your arrival and during your stay we were not notified that you were unhappy with the beach access the house provided, we did not have the opportunity to possibly move you to another rental home.

I have attached a screen satellite shot of Google Maps, which clearly shows a pathway to the sand, I have attached the actual photo and you can also look it up yourself as this is public records.

The owner of this property does not own the beach therefore we have no control over the reptiles that roam around. We do not own the beach and are not allowed to alter it in any way to make a pathway.

We have five videos of the pathway to the water, which were taken June 8, 2012 on two different times. I have attached them here as well. The videos attached were taken during the morning and afternoon.

This home has been rented many times before and we have never had complaints regarding the beach access.

Parts in the area from the house to the beach have sea oats and sand dunes, which we are not allowed to touch. The city will issue a $10,000 fine to the homeowner if someone cuts or damages any sea oats or sand dunes in that area, in addition the person who is caught doing this will be put in jail.

Local, state and federal laws protect sea oats, sea grapes, and other plants, dune areas and coastal vegetation. Florida Statue 370.041

The two links below will show you all more information on these laws:

http://www.google.com/search?q=clearwater+beach+punishment+for+damaging+sea+oats&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari

Per the documents provided we are not allowed to touch the sea oats or sand dunes to make pathways to the water.

In conclusion this property does have beach access, Google Maps and our videos confirm this.

We apologize for any inconviniences.

Thank you.
