I resided at Beachside Manor for about Two years. I decided to move out In February because for The second year in a row, they increased my rent without notifying me beforehand the first year that it happened. I didn't even even know for four months until They reached out saying I owed $400. I had no clue they updated by 100 bucks fast-forward to this year and they tried to do it again but instead of this time for $250 I decided to move. My lease states that failure to return my signed lease would be notification I was leaving.

I moved out and then about 6-7 weeks later I found out they were suing me for an eviction when I had already moved out! Tried to claim I didn't pay last month's rent, which I did aside from that all the numbers were inaccurate on the lawsuit, and they uploaded a document that was scribbled with handwriting over it and when you Look real close there's a date from 2009. So a lawyer knowingly submitted this paperwork, knowing that it was fraudulent????

As a result, I started to really do some research on my rights as a tenant in New Jersey. Come to find out they've violated basically every right I had I never received a truth in renting statement. I never received lead paint disclosures. I never was told where my security deposit was.

they sold the building in 2022 and never told tenants.  In fact Through property records, searching, I found out that the building is owned by the same lawyer that filed the paperwork??? Their lawsuit was moot to begin with since I had already left, and they tried to say, I owed legal fees. All I wanted was my security back. I'm late for rent now because it was a huge portion of my budget when I moved $2700 it's bullshit.
