This company riped me off by using high pressure sales tatics and making promises they could not ever deliver. They are in the business of selling packages to consumers to restore hair to individuals suffering from hair loss.

They are promising to restore hair with laser treatments. I went to this company just to inquire what their company was all about. Before I walked out the door they high pressured me with promises of treatments that would restore my hair and also they included in their once in a life time offer (2) custom made hair systems at no additional cost and also (6) laser facial treatments again at no additional cost. This wonderful package was 3,500.00. I was not allowed to go home and think about it or consult with my husband because this was a one time offer that was not eer going to be offered again. after 3 months it was plain for me to see their treatments were not doing anything for me and the hair systems they ordered were no more than factory made wigs ther was nothing custom about them. The hair system were ordered twice and both times they were not as promised.

I was never given scalp evalulations to see if I was making progress I was told this takes years sometimes and I bought a one year package! When I attempted to complain to the manager I was told to never enter the facility again and they would no longer provide me any services even though I had a one year contract. The bottom line was that in order for me to get one of the 2 hair systems they had given to me I had to sign on a letter stating I was terminating my contract with them. I feel as if I was totally ripped off and I was entitled to my money back. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and as of yet hae not resoled this issue and it has been 2 months.

Contracts are made to be broken

#3Consumer Suggestion

Tue, April 24, 2007

I want to inform the public of some things in this complaint that are just plain wrong.
The first is the comment : If a client say's that they no longer want our services before their contract is over, they have to sign a release of obligation to the business. This is normal practice for any business that deals with contracts.

That cant be any farther from the truth. You do not have to sign any contract or release if they feel uncomfortable. If you disagree with the way you had been treated or if the work that was done is substandard or different than what was discussed, you do not have to release the company from their obligations. It is quite the opposite actually. You want to hold them to their obligations. You want them to fix the problem.

When you signed the release, you made it harder for you to win a court case. Not totally lose a case, just make it all the more harder to have a judge rule in your favor.

If the owner tells you too leave and you still have time remaining on the contract, the owner is obligated to pro-rate the value of what the worth if the remaining time is on that contract and refund you the amount.

Also; since it is the owner that broke the contract you again are under no obligation to release them from a contract.

Lastly, the comment that it is normal practice for any business that deals with contracts.
Again, another incorrect statement. The normal practice is what I explained above. Reimbursement.

I have been dealing with contracts on a major level, dealing worth millions of dollars (all of it not mine of course) for years. When the parties enter into any agreement, the parties discuss it's contents prior to signing on the line. I encourage any person who feels uncomfortable signing a contract to go over the issues you need to with the other party. Trust your gut instinct. If some thing feels wrong, it usually is.

If the other party refuses to discuss your points of interest, or rushes over them and you feel that something is still wrong, again DON'T SIGN the contract.

Beachwood Hair Clinic has been in buisiness for over 40 years, has an outstanding track record with the BBB and has many satisfied clients. You may even have seen us in Spa Magazine or in the Healthy Referral.

Beachwood Hair Clinic does not "High Pressure" sell. We cannot make decisions for the people who come into us. We are a buisiness that helps people and if they decide to go forward with our services, we do everything possible to meet their needs. We do not solicit buisiness. Customers call in to us for evaluations.

If someone needs to discuss the services with a spouse or other, we certainly can appreciate that, in fact, we encourage them to set up another appointment to bring in the spouse or other to discuss and answer questions and there is no extra charge for that.

All Laser hair client's get an evaluation on or around every third month of the treatment, however if a client is on vacation or repetedly tells us that they don't have time to do the evaluation, then we must wait for that client to make time. This usually does not go too far, as the client's themselves want to see their progress.

Our Hair systems are all "high tech" and some of the best in the buisiness. When a system is ordered "custom", a client must be molded and measured so that the manufacturer can make it specified to fit that client. If a client asks for a "custom" system, measurments and molds are done and what the client recieves is a "custom" system.

If a client say's that they no longer want our services before their contract is over, they have to sign a release of obligation to the buisiness. This is normal practice for any buisiness that deals with contracts.

Although we have a good track record throughout the years, in any buisiness you will always run into a client/customer whom you can't please. No matter how hard you try to please them and have the right to refuse service to someone when they are rude and abusive to our staff.

The complaint above has been resolved with the BBB and they ruled in our favor.

Although I can not comment on this specific person, due to confidentiality issues, I can assure you that these comments and allegations are of ill taste and untrue.

As a consumer, you must also remember that anyone can write anything about anyone with no proof and just out of spite.
