Complaint Review: Bearcountry Vacations

In March of 2003, On Ebay,I bid on a vacation to Ireland for my husband. He was in the middle east at the time during the war and he really wanted to go to Ireland when he got back. So I bid and won. I was emailed from the seller stating that I needed to pay him $99 and then he would send me a form for the trip. He said I would need to book ahead 60-90 days. So I got the form and the form said I would need to send another $60 per person in order to start the reservation process. I sent the money and the dates I wanted, which were over 4 months out and during off peak travel season. My dates came and went, didn't hear a word. I emailed to get new dates. I was told that the original dates were unavailable (obviously) and that she would work on the new dates.

Those also came and went without a word. So I asked for a refund. No surprise my emails were not returned. They were not returned for 4 months. Finally I faxed a letter to the number on the website, there is no phone number to talk to anyone. I stated that if I did not receive my refund, I would report them to Square Trade. I followed up with an email. My email was finally returned. Patricia said that my contract said I had to try 3 dates. I said I did not want to because she wasn't holding up her end of the bargain. So after a few VERY nasty emails from her, she said that she would refund my money, less $25 per person. She said it would take 6-8weeks just like everyone else (which why is there and 'everyone else' if she is so reputable?) This was in June. It is now going into December and I have yet to see my money. Beware of this scam!!!!!
