Bought a horse from Ms. Acord in September of 2007 after spending time grooming, tacking and riding. Horse was calm, sound and gentle. Asked if horse bit and Ms. Acord said no. Horse had been handled by children all summer. Horse was advertised as bombproof and Ms. Acord promised an exchange if we were not satisfied.

Horse passed PPE. After horse was delivered we had extemely difficult time. Horse had extremely poor ground manners and bit - was very hard to control. Bolted several times with our daughter, once throwing her into a fence, jumping the fence and running off into a field. Stable employees complained about handling him. We changed feed with no result. Two weeks in horse showed signs of severe lameness (bad stifle).

Contacted Ms. Acord and was told we could exchange him. We visited but found nothing at that visit except a horse she wanted to sell for twice what we paid. I told her we would hold onto horse if she would let us know when she found a good substitute. She said fine.

Several months passed and we heard nothing. My horse was still lame and my vet recommended not pursuing if we were going to exchange. In January of 2008 my husband called Ms. Acord and was told that there were eight horses coming at the end of the week and she would give us a call. I called her several times and she did not answer finally sending an email with pictures of several horses telling me that she would only give me $1,000 off any one of these horses upon returning mine. I paid $4,500 for mine. I sent several emails and never heard back.

I feel this horse was grossly misrepresented and my vet suspected doping. I was not able to sell horse and had to give him away. I lost thousands of dollars not only in the purchase price but board and vet bills. She promised an even exchange if we were unhappy but reneged.

Aaron, Ricky was a horrible horse to buy for your daughter. And, if I do recall, he was really bad with her. And you considered selling him at one point because when she rode him at Becky's he was great. And while boarding him with Brenda Coggin, he became extremely misbehaved. Don't try to defend Becky. She is nothing but a two-faced liar.

To the person who feels only one customer is unhappy and has been ripped off by Becky, read on. You should also contact the attorney general. There have been more reports! She is a dishonest theif at best! At worst she puts not only her own daughter in danger (allowing her to ride drugged horses) but she puts many people in danger by selling them these dangerous animals.

This story sounds like mine. I purchased a horse from Becky. She advertised it as a champion in many disciplines. LIAR!!!! She told me the horse was owned by a girl who went to college and Becky knew the horse from all the years the girl had shown her. LIAR!!!! I bought her lies and the horse. After realizing the horse was crazy I researched her and was told the truth. There was no girl who went to college, Becly didn't know the mare from years of showing. She bought her at an auction and made up the story. Now sge won't respond to my attempts to contact her. Hey Becky, what if someone screwed your kid the way you screwed mine. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. YOU COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED MY SON. ALL FOR A BUCK.......DISGUSTING

I purchased a horse from Becky Acord in September of 2008. We approached Becky with wanting to purchase a horse, she took note of what we were looking for, and in September 2008 Becky had found what she determined was a good horse for us. After a few days of "trying" him out we agreed that she had indeed found a great horse for us. Not only is she a good judge of horses, she is a good judge of people. Now it is almost 7 months later and everything is going great! Thank you Becky.

Furthermore, I don't think it is fair that a single upset consumer can file a negative report with no investigation done by the people responsible for this website. It should be removed. The negative report versus the owners rebuttal show that the consumer was in the wrong.

well, your story seems a bit unbelivable.
My best friend bought a horse from becky and he is amazing, he has his days, but who doesnt.
and My trainor also buys ALL HER HORSES from becky.
She recently bought a mare for me, but the mare had a problem, her teeth, we got them trimmed but she still was acting up, so she brought back the mare and traded her for another horse. The new horse is in the stall next to mine, and he is one great gelding. He is a fanatastic horse with fantastic manners.
Im sorry you were unhappy but thats not beckys problem, she is very honest in her horse dealings. She doesnt do "shady dealing" she was glad to let my trainor get another horse, SHE LIVED UP TO HER WORDS. she is a very honest and reasonable business women. Even when i read your story, it seems to unreal. The way you made your horse crazy, is NOT her problem, she trained it very well, and maybe it wasnt used to you or its new home, but none of this, NONE can be blamed upon Becky. Kepp up the Good Work becky. Your horses are great and you bussiness is very honest.

Cathleen came to my farm in September with her family looking for a horse for her and her daughter. They had limited funds so it was very clear that the "perfect" horse was not a possibility but we would all do the best we could to find the right match. They tried several horses and picked this particular horse because he was the right color. I buy horse for brains not color but we all do things differently I suppose.
Prior to them coming out we took that horse and a couple others to our local fair where the horse did the lead line division with a 4y.o. and walk-trot with a 8y.o. He was a sweetheart.
They decided they wanted him and went ahead and had a vet of their choice do a pre purchase exam on him and everything went very well. The vet was happy and so were they. I then delivered the horse to their stable where they were going to board him and all was good.
I then received a phone call from Cathleen several months later with them saying the horse is now lame and "crazy" They said he is very ill mannered on the cross ties and dangerous. They also stated they were trying to fatten him up with a lot of feed and minimal turn out. I am not saying that is an excuse but it does not help.
I e-mailed them a listing of the horses I had available at that time and they came to try them. They expected that the horse they paid $4500 for could be exchanged evenly for one for $7500 they liked. I could not do that but could for the difference in money. Things got heated with them and they got a bit nasty so I tried to help but felt anything I did was not going to be good enough. I also felt they could get any horse and make him make him "crazy"
I tried to help these people but some people do not want to be helped. We sell many horses every year and have lots of very happy customers. They love their horses and send their friends to buy here because they love the environment and honesty. Becky

The reason I did not accept the $1,000 off another horse upon return of mine was that I now knew she could not be trusted and did not want to end up with another problem horse and maybe an even worse situation. My daughter is twelve and her safety is too important to take another chance on one of her horses!
